이인상 산수화의 실경(實境)미학 연구 - 심미 의식을 중심으로

국문 초록

조선 후기의 대표적 문인화가 중 한명인 능호관 이인상(凌壺觀 李麟祥, 1710-1760)은 노론 청류의 이념을 지닌 문인이자 서화가로서, 서예와 회화, 인장 예술에 걸쳐 독자적인 세계를 구축하였다. 산수를 애호한 이인상의 실경산수화는 노론 청류의 정치적 이념과 삶의 희노애락이 반영된 심화(心畫)이다. 즐거움과 품격으로 산수를 보는 이인상은 조선의 명승을 유람하며 느낀 감흥을 기행(紀行)산수화로 형상화하였으며, 문자향(文字香)과 서권기(書卷氣)를 지닌 이인상은 벗들과 문예를 논하고 학문을 강론하며 청유(淸遊)와 시회(詩會)를 즐기는 모습을 아회(雅會)산수화로 표현했다. 그리고 은거를 추구하던 선비 화가인 이인상의 심미 의식은 은일산수화로 구현되었다. 심회(心懷)를 담은 이인상의 실경산수화는 형식의 다양성과 내용의 풍부함을 갖추며, 조선 후기 회화의 예술적 가치를 확장하고 사상적 깊이를 더한다. 그러나 이에 대한 연구는 여전히 미진한 상태에 머물러 있어, 그의 실경산수화에 대한 심층적 탐구가 요구된다. 이에 본 연구는 이인상의 실경산수화를 세 가지 유형으로 분류하여 분석하고자 한다. 첫째, 승경낙도(勝景樂道)의 이상을 반영한 기행 산수화, 둘째, 이념을 공유하는 벗들과 문예를 나누던 장면을 담은 아회산수화, 셋째, 속세를 떠나 자연에서 신념을 지키고자 한 은일산수화이다. 이러한 유형별 분석을 통해, 이인상의 실경산수화가 조선 후기 회화사에서 차지하는 위상과 그의 심미적 가치를 조명하고자 한다.

영문 초록

As one of the most representative literati painters of the late Joseon period, Nongho-gwan Yi In-sang Yi In-sang was both a philosopher and an artist who adhered to the ideology of the Noron Cheongryu faction. Viewing landscapes with a sense of joy and refinement, Yi In-sang transformed his travels across Joseon into “travel-inspired landscapes,” capturing the emotions and impressions of his journeys. he engaged in artistic and literary discussions with his peers, portraying moments of refined gatherings in “elegant assembly landscapes” Furthermore, as a literati painter who sought seclusion, his aesthetic consciousness was embodied in “reclusive landscapes,” illustrating his yearning for withdrawal from worldly affairs. Yi In-sang’s true-view landscapes, infused with personal sentiment, exhibit a remarkable diversity in form and depth of content, contributing to the expansion of artistic value and philosophical meaning in late Joseon painting. However, academic research on his work remains limited, necessitating a more in-depth exploration of his true-view landscape paintings. This study categorizes Yi In-sang’s landscapes into three distinct types: first, travel-inspired landscapes reflecting the ideal of enjoying nature’s beauty; second, elegant assembly landscapes capturing literary and artistic exchanges among scholars; and third, reclusive landscapes expressing his pursuit of transcendence from worldly life through immersion in nature.Through a comprehensive examination of his paintings, this study aims to reinterpret his artistic and philosophical achievements, shedding new light on his role in shaping the development of true-view landscape painting in the late Joseon period.
