수학 학습부진아동과 일반아동의 읽기능력과 작업기억 특성 비교

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 수학 학습부진아동과 일반아동의 읽기이해력 및 작업기억에 차이가 있는지 알아보고, 이 두 집단에서 읽기이해력과 작업기억 간에 관련성이 있는지를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수학 학습부진아동 40명과 일반아동 40명을 대상으로 읽기이해력검사와 작업기억(음운루프, 중앙집행기, 시공간 잡기장)검사를 시행하여 집단과 학년 별로 차이가 있는지 조사하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 수학 학습부진아동과 일반아동은 집단 및 학년에 따른 읽기이해력에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 작업기억검사 결과, 음운루프에서는 집단간 차이가 없었고, 중앙집행기검사 중 숫자 거꾸로 따라하기에서는 집단과 학년 간에 상호작용 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 시공간 잡기장 검사에서는 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 수학 학습부진아동과 일반아동의 읽기이해력과 작업기억 간에 상관관계가 있는지 분석한 결과 두 집단 모두 읽기이해력과 작업기억 간에 유의한 상관관계가 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare reading comprehension and working memory of normal children and children with underachievement in mathematics. Also, this study examined the relationships between reading and working memory in children with underachievement in mathematics. The subjects were composed of 40 normal children and 40 children with underachievement in mathematics who are second to sixth grade in elementary school. The results obtained in this study were as follows. (1) The scores of reading comprehension task of children with underachievement in mathematics were significantly lower than those of normal children. (2) There were no significant differences in scores of phonological loop and executive system according to groups, where as there was interaction effect of group and grade in executive system task scores. But the scores of visuospatial sketchpad task were significantly different according to groups. (3) There were significant relationships of reading ability and working memory in children with underachievement in mathematics.
