‘학교교육과 관계된 세계시민교육’ 연구경향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 세계시민교육이 한국의 학교교육과 관계하여 어떠한 연구경향성을 띄는지 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 논문초록에 ‘학교교육’과 ‘세계시민교육’이 함께 나타난 172편의 논문들의 주요색인어(index)들을 추출하고, 색인어 간에 관계를 파악하는 네트워크 텍스트 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 색인어빈도 분석결과, 전체적으로 ‘사회(society)’개념이 가장 높았다. 교수학습측면에는 ‘교육과정’이, 교육대상에는 ‘교사’가, 교육영역에는 ‘민주시민교육(비교과)’과 ‘사회과(교과)’, 그리고 국가로는 ‘미국’의 빈도가 높았다. 둘째, 주요색인어간에 네트워크 분석결과 ‘학교↔사회과(교과)↔교육과정’이 가장 긴밀하게 연결되어 있었다. 비교과목 가운데서 ‘학교’와 높은 연결성을 보인 것은 ‘다문화교육’이었고, 학교 급별로는 ‘초중등학교’가 두드러졌다. 한편 ‘개발교육’과 ‘예술교육’도 지도의 중심에서 비교적 높은 연결정도를 보였지만 ‘학교’와의 매개중심성이 높지 않았다. 그 시사점들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세계시민교육과 관련된 교과 및 비교과영역들이 사회과에만 국한되지 않고 다양한 과목들이 가능한 것으로 보인다. 둘째, 지금까지는 초중등을 대상으로 한 세계시민교육연구가 많았지만, 향후 평생교육의 관점에서 고등교육과 청장년층을 대상으로 한 연구가 많아질 필요가 있다. 셋째, 학문의 균형 발전을 위해 세계시민교육을 수용적이기 보다는 비판적이며 성찰적 자세로 검토하는 연구들이 더 많이 필요한 시점이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find out research trends of Global citizenship education(:GCED) related to Schooling education in Korea. To accomplish this, we extracted the main indexes of 172 papers that included ‘Schooling education’ and ‘Global citizenship education’ in the abstract of the paper, and to grasp the relationship between index words, network text analysis was used. The results are as follows. First, as a result of index frequency analysis, the concept of ‘Society’ was the highest overall. The frequency of ‘Education curriculum’ in terms of teaching and learning, ‘Teacher’ in terms of education subject, ‘Democratic civic education (non-formal edu.)’ and ‘Social studies(formal edu.)’ in terms of education fields, ‘America’ was the most appeared in terms of countries. Secondly, through the network analysis between the index words, it is confirmed that ‘School ↔ Social studies(formal edu.) ↔ Curriculum’ was most closely connected with each other. Also, among the comparative courses, ‘Multi-cultural education’ was the one that showed high connectivity with ‘School’. By school level, ‘Elementary and Middle school’ was prominent. On the other hand, ‘Development education’ and ‘Art education’ showed a high degree of connection at the center of the map, but it’s connection with ‘School’ was not high. The implications are as follows. First, it seems that among the subjects and comparative courses, various subjects can be related to GCED, not only confined to Social studies. Second, there have been a lot of studies on GCED for elementary and junior high school students. However, from the viewpoint of Lifelong education, there is a need to increase the number of studies on higher education and adults. Third, in order to promote the balanced development of academic, it is necessary to further study on GCED in a critical and reflective manner rather than a receptive one.
