자폐성 장애인의 음악창조 활동 경험에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 자폐성 장애인의 음악창조 활동 경험의 의미를 자폐성 장애인 당사자의 목소리를 통해 심층적으로 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 음악창조 활동 경험과 자폐성 장애인 지도 경력이 최소 5년이 되는 음악 지도자 5명, 그리고 5년 이상의 음악창조 활동 경험이 있는 자폐성 장애인 5명을 H 기관으로부터 추천받았으며, 수집된 자료를 사례연구 분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 ‘음악 지도자에 대한 일방적인 의존’, ‘음악 지도자에 대한 믿음과 기다림’, ‘음악 지도자를 의존하게 만드는 불안함과 막연함’, ‘의존 관계 속에서도 나를 만들어 가는 창조적 여정’의 네 가지 공통 주제가 도출되었다. 이는 자폐성 장애인이 가지는 고유한 창조적 표현이 주체적으로 드러날 수 있도록 그대로 인정하고 존중하는 태도가 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 개인이 가지는 고유한 특성은 목표를 수행하기 위한 능력의 가치로 타인으로부터 계수되는 것이 아니라 인간의 본질로 그대로 존중되어야 하는 가치 있는 것임을 당사자의 목소리를 통해 살펴봄으로써, 자폐성 장애인의 음악창조 활동에 관한 보다 깊은 이해와 통찰을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the meaning of the experiences of musical creative activities of autistic people through the voices of autistic people themselves. To this end, five music instructors with at least five years of experience in musical creative activities and in teaching autistic people, and five autistic people with more than five years of experience in musical creative activities were recommended by “Institution H”. The collected data was analyzed using the case study analysis method. As a result, four common themes were derived: “unilateral dependence on music instructors”, “trust in and waiting for music instructors”, “anxiety and vagueness that make autistic people dependent on music instructors”, and “creative journey of creating myself even in a dependent relationship”. This suggests that an attitude of acknowledging and respecting the unique creative expressions of people with autism is necessary so that they can express themselves subjectively. This study provided a deeper understanding and insight into the musical creative activities of people with autism by examining through the voices of the individuals involved that the unique characteristics of individuals are valuable and should be respected as the essence of human beings, rather than being counted by others as the value of their ability to achieve goals.
