남성 성역할 갈등에 관한 연구동향 : 국내 학술논문을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 남성 성역할 갈등에 대한 연구 동향을 국내 학술지를 중심으로 분석하고, 향후 관련 연구의 방향성을 제시하며 실천적 개입의 토대를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 “남성 성역할 갈등”과 “성역할 갈등”을 주요어로 검색한 후 연구 목적에 따라 논문을 분류하고 50편을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 선정된 논문을 대상으로 게재 연도, 연구 대상, 연구 방법 및 분석 방법, 측정 도구, 연구 변인을 기준으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발행 연도별 논문 수는 2003년을 시작으로 2024년까지 꾸준히 증가했으며, 2019년에 10편으로 가장 많은 연구가 진행되었다. 둘째, 연구 대상별 분석 결과 남자 대학생을 대상으로 한 연구가 17편으로 가장 많았으며, 전체 연구의 1/3을 차지하였다. 셋째, 연구 방법 및 분석 방법별 분석 결과, 양적 연구가 48편, 질적 연구와 혼합 연구가 각 1편으로 나타났다. 분석 방법에서는 회귀분석 계열 분석 방법이 21편으로 가장 많이 사용되었다. 넷째, 남성 성역할 갈등 측정 도구로는 이수연 외(2012)가 개발한 한국형 남성 성역할 갈등 척도(K-MGRCS)가 22편의 연구에서 사용되어 가장 빈번하게 활용되었다. 마지막으로, 남성 성역할 갈등은 39편의 연구에서 독립 변인으로, 4편의 연구에서 매개 변인으로 연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 남성 성역할 갈등 관련 연구의 시사점과 향후 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The study aims were to analyze research trends on male gender role conflict, focusing on Korean academic journals, and suggest future research directions while providing a foundation for practical interventions. Methods: For this purpose, papers were searched using the keywords “male gender role conflict” and “gender role conflict.” Fifty papers were selected according to the study's purpose and categorized for analysis. The selected papers were analyzed based on publication year, research subjects, research and analysis methods, measurement tools, and study variables. Results: The results follow. First, the number of published papers has steadily increased since 2003 and continued to rise until 2024, with the highest number of studies conducted in 2019 (10 papers). Second, an analysis of research subjects revealed that male college students were the most frequently studied group, with 17 papers, accounting for one-third of all studies. Third, regarding research and analysis methods, 48 studies employed quantitative methods, while qualitative and mixed methods were used in only one study each. The regression analysis was the most commonly used analytical method, appearing in 21 papers. Fourth, the Korean Male Gender Role Conflict Scale (K-MGRCS) developed by Lee Soo-Yeon et al. (2012) was the most frequently used measurement tool, appearing in 22 studies. Finally, male gender role conflict was treated as an independent variable in 39 studies and as a mediating variable in four studies. Conclusions: Based on these results, implications for research on male gender role conflict are discussed and suggestions for future studies are offered.
