중년 여성 자아정체감에 관한 연구 동향: 국내 학술연구를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 학술지에서 중년 여성의 자아정체감 연구가 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 분석하여, 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내 KCI 등재 논문 35편을 선정하여 발행 연도, 연구 대상, 연구 방법 및 연구 주제, 측정 도구, 연구 변인을 기준으로 분석하였다. 첫째 중년 여성의 자아정체감 관련 연구는 1997년부터 2023년까지 진행되었다. 둘째, 연구 대상은 중년기를 40세~59세로 설정한 연구가 13편(37.14%)으로 가장 많았다. 셋째, 연구 방법으로는 양적 연구가 28편(80%)으로 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 변인 간 관계에서 회귀분석이 12편(34.29%)으로 가장 빈번하게 활용되었다. 넷째, 측정 도구로는 Dignan의 자아정체감 척도를 서봉연(1975)이 번안하고, 박아청(1996)이 수정한 후, 이경혜(1997)가 중년 여성에 맞게 보완한 척도가 13편(46.43%)으로 가장 많이 사용되었다. 다섯째, 연구 변인 분석 결과, 35편 중 18편(60%)에서 자아정체감이 종속변인으로 가장 많이 설정되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 중년 여성의 자아정체감 연구가 갖는 시사점을 논의하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: This study aims were to analyze how research on self-identity among middle-aged women has been conducted in domestic academic journals and suggest future research directions. Methods: Thirty-five articles listed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) were selected and analyzed based on publication year, research participant age, research methods and topics, measurement tools, and research variables. Results: First, research on self-identity among middle-aged women was first published in 1997, with intermittent studies conducted until 2023. Second, the most common definition of middle age in the selected studies was 40 to 59 years old. Third, quantitative research was the most frequently employed methodology, appearing in 28 studies (80%). Fourth, the most frequently used measurement tool was the self-identity scale originally developed by Dignan, translated by Seo Bong-yeon (1975), modified by Park A-cheong (1996), and later adapted for middle-aged women by Lee Kyung-hye (1997). Fifth, an analysis of research variables revealed that self-identity was most commonly treated as a dependent variable, appearing in 18 studies (60%) out of the 35 reviewed. Conclusions: Based on the study findings, the implications of research on self-identity among middle-aged women are discussed, along with proposed directions for future studies.
