청소년의 학습된 무기력에 관한 국내 연구 동향: 국내 학술논문을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 청소년의 학습된 무기력과 관련된 국내 연구 동향을 분석하여 전반적인 연구 흐름을 파악하고 향후 청소년의 학습된 무기력 연구 방향성을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원(RISS)에서 ‘학습된 무기력’을 검색하여 KCI 등재 후보 또는 KCI에 등재된 청소년 대상 연구논문 44편을 대상으로 발행연도, 연구대상, 연구방법 및 연구주제에 다른 통계분석, 측정도구, 연구변인을 분석하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 학습된 무기력에 관한 연구는 2003년부터 2024년까지 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 둘째, 초등학생, 중학생, 고등학생, 학교 밖 청소년 중 중학생을 대상으로 한 연구가 16편(38.1%)로 가장 많이 진행되었다. 셋째, 연구방법 분석 결과, 양적연구가 40편(90.91%)으로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였고 문헌연구 2편(4.55%), 질적연구 2편(4.55%)으로 나타났다. 특히, 양적 연구 중 변인 간 관계 연구가 31편(70.45%)로 가장 많았으며 통계분석으로는 회귀분석계열 및 구조분석계열이 각각 13편(29.55%)로 가장 많이 사용되었다. 넷째, 청소년의 학습된 무기력을 측정하기 위한 도구로 신기명(1990)의 학습된 무력감 척도가 32편(78.05%)으로 가장 많이 활용되었다. 다섯째, 연구변인에 대한 분석 결과, 학습된 무기력을 종속변인으로 활용한 연구가 29편(70.73%)으로 가장 많았으며, 개인요인 범주의 변인이 가장 많이 연구된 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 연구 접근 유형 분석 결과, 개별적 접근이 26편(63.4%)로 과반수를 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 연구의 시사점과 한계점을 논의하고 향후 연구 방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze domestic research trends on learned helplessness in adolescents in order to understand overall research patterns and suggest future research directions. Methods: Forty-four research papers focusing on adolescents, published in Korea Citation Index (KCI)-listed or candidate journals, were selected through a keyword search for “learned helplessness” in the Korean Education and Research Information Service (RISS) database. These studies were analyzed based on publication year, research subjects, research methods, statistical analyses, measurement tools, and study variables. Results: First, research on adolescent learned helplessness has been continuously conducted from 2003 to 2024. Second, among different research subjects, including elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as out of school adolescents, middle school students were the most frequently studied group, with 16 studies (38.1%) Third, in terms of research methods, quantitative studies accounted for the majority, with 40 studies (90.91%), followed by literature reviews with 2 studies (4.55%) and qualitative studies with 2 study (4.55%). Among the quantitative studies, variable relationship analyses were the most common, with 31 studies (70.45%), and regression analyses and structural equation modeling were each used in 13 studies (29.55%). Fourth, the most frequently used measurement tool for assessing adolescents’ learned helplessness was the Learned Helplessness Scale developed by Shin Ki-Myung (1990), it was employed in 32 studies (78.05%). Fifth, regarding study variables, learned helplessness was most commonly used as a dependent variable, in 29 studies (70.73%), while personal factors were the most frequently examined category. Sixth, the analysis of research approaches revealed that individual-level approaches accounted for 26 studies (63.4%). Conclusions: Based on these findings, this study discusses the implications and limitations of existing research and proposes directions for future studies on adolescents’ learned helplessness.
