국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 다문화가정 학부모 교육프로그램이 학부모의 역량 증진 효과을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 다문화가정 학부모들은 언어와 문화적 차이 등으로 자녀교육에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교 다문화가정 학부모의 양육 역량, 자기체계 역량, 사회적 역량을 중심으로 학부모 교육프로그램을 구성하였다. 프로그램 효과 검증을 위해 실험집단(12명)과 통제집단(13명)을 설정하고 10회기 20시간의 학부모교육프로그램을 운영한 후, 사전-사후- 추후 검사 간 효과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 학부모교육프로그램은 다문화가정 학부모의 양육역량, 자기체계 역량, 사회적 역량 영역에 있어서 실험집단에 비해 유의미한 변화를 보였으며, 프로그램 종료 후에도 지속되었다. 그러나, 시간이 지나면서 효과가 감소하는 경향을 보여 지속적인 교육이 필요하였다. 다문화가정 학부모 교육은 단순한 정보 제공을 넘어 자기 성장과 사회적 관계 형성을 지원하는 방향으로 확장될 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 초등학교 다문화가정 학부모교육의 효과성을 실증적으로 검증하였으며, 자녀 교육의 주체로서 다문화가정 학부모의 역할 수행을 위한 지원 방안이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of an educational program for multicultural parents in elementary schools in enhancing their competencies. Multicultural parents often face challenges in educating their children due to language barriers and cultural differences. This study designed a parent education program focusing on three key areas: parenting competence, self-system competence, and social competence. To verify the program’s effectiveness, an experimental group (12 participants) and a control group(13 participants) were established. The program was conducted over 10 sessions, totaling 20 hours. The effects were analyzed through pre-test, post-test, and follow-up tests. The findings indicated that the parent education program led to significant improvements in parenting competence, self-system competence, and social competence for the experimental group, and these effects persisted even after the program concluded. However, a decline in effectiveness over time was observed, suggesting the need for continuous education. Parent education for multicultural families should go beyond simply providing information; it should also support personal growth and the formation of social relationships. This study empirically validated the effectiveness of elementary school parent education programs for multicultural families and emphasized the necessity of support measures to help multicultural parents fulfill their roles as primary educators of their children.
