국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 공감적 이해를 위한 연극놀이 활동을 구성하고 이에 대한 유아의 반응을 탐구하는 것이다. 유아를 역동적 유기체로 인식하고, 열려있는 드라마 구조에서 유아와 교사가 함께 연극의 문맥을 만들어 가는 것을 기본 취지로 연극놀이 활동을 구성하였다. 개발된 연극놀이 활동에 S시 N구에 위치한 건강가정지원센터 공동육아나눔터의 만 5세 유아 8명이 참여하였다. 연구결과, 공감적 이해를 위한 연극놀이 활동은 목적 및 목표, 교육내용, 교수학습방법, 평가의 체계로 구성되었으며, 이에 대한 유아의 반응은 또래간 정서적 교류의 확대, 공동체의 구성, 연극적 공간의 재창조 등으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 공감적 이해를 위한 연극놀이 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하고, 유아교육현장에서 활용 가능한 연극놀이 활동의 이론적 근거와 시사점을 제공하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to construct creative drama activities for empathic understanding and examine children’s responses to them. The participants of this study included eight children five years of age who attended a cooperative child care center within the N Health Family Support Center located in S city. This study was conducted from April to October, 2017. After developing creative drama activities, the activities were implemented with young children once a week for a total of 7 sessions from September 1 to October 20. During these sessions, on-site observations were performed focusing on the children’s responses and their interactions with peers and teachers. Each session of creative drama activities was recorded by video and photographed. The transcripts of the video recording, research journals, on-site observation notes, and children’s works were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: First, creative drama activities were constructed as a concrete educational plan for young children’s empathic understanding. Recognizing the participant children as dynamic organic bodies of activities and setting the structure of open-ended drama as its basic frame, activities were aimed at enabling young children to empathize with people and nature and to express their thoughts and communicate them through creative drama. Second, the children responded to the creative drama activities for empathic understanding in ways indicative of increased emotional exchanges between peers, building community, and recreation of theatrical space. The findings of this study serve as basic data for the development of a creative drama program for empathic understanding and presents the theoretical basis and implications for a creative drama program which can be used in the field of early childhood education.
