통합적 예술활동이 유아의 창의적 문제해결능력과 공감능력 및 인성발달에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 만 5세 유아 20명을 대상으로 실험연구를 통해 예술활동이 창의적 문제해결능력과 공감능력, 그리고 인성발달에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 실험집단과 통제집단으로 분류하고, 두 집단 간의 사전/사후검사 점수를 공변으로 한 공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 통해 그 효과를 알아보았다. 본 연구에서 밝힌 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술활동이 유아의 창의적 문제해결능력에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 창의적 문제해결능력이 높은 것으로 나타나 유아들의 예술활동 참여가 창의적인 문제해결능력을 높이는데 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예술활동이 유아의 공감능력에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 공감능력이 높은 것으로 나타나 예술활동 참여가 공감능력을 높이는데 효과적으로 나타났다. 셋째, 예술활동이 유아의 인성발달에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 인성발달 점수가 높은 것으로 나타나 유아들의 예술활동 참여가 인성발달을 높이는데 있어서 효과적이라는 사실을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 유아의 통합적 예술활동에 따른 교육적 효과를 살펴봄으로써 유아들을 위한 통합적 교육에 대한 실제적 대안을 제시하는데 기여할 수 있는 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of an art activity on young children's creative problem solving ability, empathy ability and character development. For this purpose, five-year-old children were grouped into an experiment group and control (comparison) group. The average and standard deviation were calculated and ANCOVA with pre-post test scores of the two groups as covariates was carried out with the collected data. The major findings are as follows: First, the scores of the experimental group for creative problem solving ability were significantly higher than those of the control group (comparative group). This result showed that the art activity program was effective in improving young children's creative problem solving ability. Second, the scores of the experimental group for empathy ability were significantly higher than those of the control group. This result showed that the art activity program was effective in improving young children's empathy ability. Third, the scores of the experimental group for character development were significantly higher than those of the control group. This result showed that the art activity program was effective in improving young children's character development. This study showed that an art activity learning program had positive influence on improving young children's creative problem solving ability, empathy ability and character development.
