3-5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용 지도서 동화 텍스트 수준 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 3-5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용 지도서의 동화 텍스트 수준을 살펴보고, 연령별 유아의 수준의 적정성을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 분석 자료는 교사용 지도서 내 동화 텍스트 216편이며, 연구 도구는 미국 공통핵심교육과정(The Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts; CCSS, 2010)에서 제안한 문학텍스트 수준 분석을 위한 교사용 평가도구(Text Complexity: Qualitative Measures Rubric-Literature)를 수정하여 사용하였다.본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 3-5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용 지도서 내 동화 텍스트 수준을 살펴본 결과, 3, 4, 5세 연령 모두 연령에 적정하지 않은 동화 텍스트 비중이 더 높게 나타났다. 특히 동화 텍스트의 실제 연령 수준을 살펴본 결과, 각 연령별로 2개 연령 수준차가 나는 텍스트가 약 20% 내외로 포함되어 있었다. 둘째, 실제 연령 수준의 판단 근거인 글의 구조, 주제, 언어의 명료성 및 관습성 수준, 배경지식 4개 평가범주별로 3-5세 동화 텍스트 수준의 경향을 살펴본 결과, 연령별 동화 텍스트 특성이 다르게 나타났다. 본 연구는 텍스트적 관점에서 연령별 유아의 수준에 적절한 동화 텍스트 수준을 파악하고자 관련 선행연구에 대한 이론적 고찰을 하였으며, 이를 토대로 3-5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용 지도서 내 동화 텍스트의 수준을 분석함으로써 동화 텍스트 수준의 경향과 그 특성을 알아보고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the text level of creative tales for young children in the 「Teacher’s guidebook for the 3-5 Nuri system」 according to the children’s age. The subject of this study were 216 creative tale texts in the 「Teacher’s guidebook for the 3-5 Nuri system」. The ‘Qualitative Measures Rubric for Literature Text Complexity’ (CCSS, 2010) was used for analyzing the text level of the qualitative factors of the creative tales. For the data analysis, the frequency and percentage were reported. The findings of this study are as follows. First, regarding the text level of creative tales in the teacher’s guidebook for the 3-5 Nuri System, the text levels for the majority of the creative tales for three-, four-, and five-year-old children were not appropriate for their age. Especially, for each age, about 20% of the text was at a level for children two years older than that of the target age group. Second, in the analysis of the tendency in the text level based on four criteria that were used to assess the age level, i.e. text structure, theme, clarity of the language and level of conventionality, and background knowledge, different characteristics of the creative tale texts were found according to the age. Most of the creative tale texts for three-year-old children had an age-appropriate text structure; most of the creative tale texts for four-year-old children had an age-appropriate clarity of the language and level of conventionality, and most of the creative tale texts for five-year-old children had an age-appropriate text structure and theme. By contrast, a high proportion of the remaining criteria for the text level of the creative tales were not appropriate for the target age groups.
