그림책 전시의 특성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 현재 다양한 형태로 활발히 이루어지고 있는 그림책 전시가 원화작품과 작가에 대한 이해를 돕는 단순한 관람용 도구로서가 아니라, 그림책의 본질적 특성을 반영하고 확장시키기 위한 매체로 인식하고 구체적인 사례 분석을 통해 그림책 전시에 대한 특징을 살펴보며 그림책 전시의 논점을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 연구가 진행된 시점을 기준으로 수도권에서 이루어지고 있는 세 곳의 그림책 전시를 찾아가 공간과 전시품의 전시 상황을 살피고 전시의 기획적 특성과 전시공간의 구성적 특성을 체크리스트를 통해 살펴보고 체크하는 방식으로 분석되었다. 이 과정에서 그림책이 지닌 독특성이 전시 공간 안에 어떻게 재구성되고 있는지 살피기 위하여 전시공간, 전시품, 관람자의 관점에서 전시의 특성을 바라보고 그 의미를 살펴보았다.그 결과 첫째, 그림책 전시구성은 기획자의 의도에 따라 전시구성의 내용과 그 형식이 달라졌다. 이때 전시의 내용은 전시를 구성하는 형식과 밀접한 관련성을 보였다. 둘째, 전시공간 구성에서 작품공간과 도서공간, 통로와 로비는 모든 그림책 전시에 포함되었고, 체험공간과 휴게공간, 영상공간, 아카이브룸은 전시의 구성에 따라 선택적으로 포함되었다. 셋째, 그림책 전시는 전시를 구성하는 전시공간, 그림책, 관람객 그리고 그들 간에 이루어지는 소통을 통해 의미가 재구성됨을 알 수 있었다.그림책 전시는 그림책의 그림을 예술적 가치를 지닌 미술작품으로서 관람객에게 풍부한 미적경험을 제공하는 동시에 서사가 담겨져 있다는 그림책의 특성을 전시공간 내에서도 드러내고 있었다. 또한 그림책 전시는 기획자에 의해 다양한 형태로 구성될 수 있는 부분으로서, 다양한 연령층을 아우르고 있는 그림책 전시의 특성과 빠르게 변화하고 있는 환경 그리고 더불어 관람자(독자)들의 요구도에 따라 변모하고 있음은 틀림이 없다. 책으로서만 머무르지 않고 독자들에게 찾아오고 있는 이러한 그림책 전시의 특성과 의미를 이해하는 것은 심미적 문화적 자원으로서 그림책 전시 방안을 제시할 뿐 아니라 그림책 전시를 바라보는 우리의 시각을 돌아보고 기획자로서 뿐 아니라 독자로서 그림책을 감상하는 한 방법으로 전시가 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

From the perspective that the exhibition of picture books active in various types in every walk of life could be an object of independent research to reflect the essential characteristics of picture books not as a simple appreciation tool to help understand the authors as well as original pictures, the necessity of research was recognized. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the structural characteristics of the exhibition and structural characteristics of the exhibition space through the exhibition of new picture books according to each different scale and the purpose of the exhibition. This study examined the recomposition and significance of the uniqueness of picture books in the exhibition space.From the results, first, the exhibition composition of the picture books has different contents and types of exhibition compositions based on the intentions of the planners. At this point, the exhibition contents showed close relevance with the type composing the exhibition. Second, as for the composition of the exhibition space, work space, library space, passage and lobby were all involved in the exhibition of picture books, and the experience space and rest space, video space and archive were selectively included according to the composition of the exhibition. Third, it was realized that the significance of the exhibition of picture books can be recomposed through communications between the exhibition space, picture books, and audience. The exhibition of picture books exposed the characteristics of the picture books in the exhibition space for which the pictures not only provide an abundant aesthetic experience to the audience as a work of art with artistic values but also provide descriptions. The picture books in the exhibition hall become recomposed according to the intention of the exhibition planner, contain different messages and compose significance by audience`s participation. Then, the exhibition of picture books embraces various ages when the exhibition planner for the picture books reflects the plan about the composition methods on the objects, purposes and methods to in the planning. It can be expected that understanding the characteristics and significance of the exhibition of picture books not only suggests the exhibition methods for picture books as aesthetic and cultural resources but also examines our perspective on the exhibition of picture books and provide a direction for exhibitions in the appreciation course of picture books as planners and readers as well.
