문해환경이 유아의 읽기흥미, 상상력 및 이야기 구성능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 가정・교실문해환경과 유아의 이야기 구성능력 간의 관계에서 유아의 읽기흥미와 상상력의 매개효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 충청지역 유치원에 재원중인 어머니와 유아 각각 266명이 참여했고, 가정과 교실의 문해환경, 유아의 읽기흥미, 상상력 그리고 유아의 이야기 구성능력에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 가정・교실문해환경, 유아의 읽기흥미, 상상력, 이야기 구성능력에 긍정적인 영향을 확인했다. 연구결과, 유아의 이야기 구성능력의 발달과정에서 가정・교실 문해환경과 유아 자신의 읽기흥미는 중요한 변인임을 확인하였다. 따라서 유아의 이야기 구성능력의 발달과 관련하여 가정・교실문해환경과 유아의 읽기흥미 그리고 상상력을 불러일으킬 수 있는 다양한 변인에 대한 연구가 선행될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the effect of home and classroom literacy environments on young children’s story-construction ability. Specifically, the sequentially mediating role of young children’s reading interest and imagination was observed. A total of 266 children aged 4-5, their’ mothers and 18 teachers working at a kindergarten in Seoul province participated in a questionnaire survey. This study conducted descriptive, correlation, regression and bootstrapping analyses, employing SPSS 27.0 and Amos 27 program. The results were as follows. First, home and classroom literacy environments positively affected young children’s story construction ability. Second, home and classroom literacy environments increased young children’s reading interest and imagination, as well as young children’s story construction ability. These findings indicate the critical role of home and classroom literacy environments on young children’s story construction ability, dual mediated by young children’s reading interest and imagination.
