백희나의『장수탕 선녀님』과 『이상한 엄마』속 아동의 주체되기

국문 초록

본 연구는 백희나의 『장수탕 선녀님』과 『이상한 엄마』를 라캉의 이론을 바탕으로 분석한 연구이다. 두 편의 그림책에는 공통적으로 선녀가 등장하며, 선녀- 아이- 엄마라는 인물 구조를 갖고, 아이가 아프다는 사건이 발생한다. 등장인물 중 아이는 모두 선녀와 특별한 시간을 갖게 되는데, 그림책 속 선녀와 아이들이 맺는 관계를 통해 선녀의 의미와 아동이 실현하는 환상이 무엇인지 구체적으로 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Lacan의 이론에서 주요 개념과 주체 형성의 과정을 정리하고 이를 바탕으로 두 편의 그림책을 분석해 보았다. Lacan은 상상계와 상징계를 통하여 어머니와 아이의 관계, 아버지가 개입한 이후의 언어와 법의 체계 속으로 이행해 가는 과정을 구조적으로 설명하였다. 그림책은 텍스트와 그림 속 배경, 성격묘사, 초점, 시간과 움직임 등을 반영하여 해석학적 순환과정을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 상상계와 상징계의 이중적 메타포로서의 목욕탕과 구름, 상상계 속 어머니로서의 선녀, 음식으로 상징되는 욕망, 아픔에서 회복을 통한 주체되기로 정리하였다. 아이들은 상상계 속 어머니의 욕망과 상징계 속 대타자가 부여한 욕망에서 소외된 주체는 채워질 수 없는 결핍을 갖게되고 환상 속에서 선녀라는 어머니와 결합을 통해 충만함을 느끼고 위로를 받는다. 연구 결과는 성인이 아동이 주체를 형성하는 심리적 과정을 이해하고 환상동화 속에서 결핍된 무의식을 충족하려는 것을 이해하는데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes Baek Hee-na's 『Fairy of Jangsu-tang』 and 『Strange Mother』 based on Lacan's theory. In both episodes, a fairy appears in common, and the character structure is fairy-child-mother, and an incident occurs where the child is sick. Among the characters, the children all have a special time with the fairy, I wanted to specifically explore the meaning of the fairy of the two picture books and the fantasy that the children realize through the relationship between the fairy and the children. To this end, we summarized the main concepts and process of subject formation in Lacan's theory and analyzed two picture books based on this. Lacan structurally explained the relationship between mother and child through the Imaginary and Symbolic worlds, and the process of transitioning into the system of language and law after the father's intervention. In the picture book analysis, the text and pictures that make up the picture book were analyzed through a hermeneutical cycle process, reflecting the background, character description, focus, time, and movement. The results of the study were summarized using a dual metaphor of the bathhouse and the cloud, representing the imaginary and the symbolic realms. In this framework, a fairy takes on the role of a mother in the imaginary world; desire is symbolized by food, and the process of becoming a subject occurs through recovery from illness. The subject, who is alienated from the mother's desire in the Imaginary world and the desire granted by the Other in the Symbolic world, has a deficiency that cannot be filled, and is comforted by feeling the fullness that comes from union with the mother, a fairy, in fantasy. Such an interpretation may help understand the psychological process by which children establish their own identity and satisfy their unconscious desires to make up for their deficiencies in fantasy fairy tales.
