토픽모델링을 활용한 IB 교육과정 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 토픽모델링을 활용하여 IB 교육과정 관련 연구의 주제를 분석하고 이것을 통해 국내 연구 동향을 살펴보고 학문적 수준과 실무적 수준에서의 주제 분포를 가늠하였다. 연구방법: 이를 위하여 국내 학술지에 게재된 IB 교육과정과 관련된 논문 137편을 수집하고, 국문 초록에서 상위 키워드의 출현빈도를 분석하였다. 아울러 토픽모델링 분석을 활용하여 논문의 국문 초록을 대상으로 전처리 과정 후 13개 토픽을 도출하였고, 국내 IB 교육과정의 연구 주제 및 핵심 키워드를 추출하였다. 또한, 교육학의 학문적 분류와 IB 교육과정의 기준 및 운영에 관한 9개 영역을 범주화한 분석틀을 활용하여 결과를 비교·분석하였다. 연구결과: 토픽모델링 분석 결과 13개의 연구 영역에서 IB 교육과정과 관련하여 가장 활발히 연구된 주제 영역은 ‘탐구기반학습’이 가장 활발히 연구되었으며 학문적 분류에 따른 5개 영역에서는 교육공학 및 방법론이 가장 많은 비중을 차지한 반면 교육철학 및 교육평가학 영역의 연구는 미미한 것으로 나타났다. IB 교육과정 기준 및 실천 프레임워크의 관점에서는 교육과정 설계, 학습자, 교수법, 평가 방법 등 ‘학습’의 범주에서 주로 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구는 IB 교육과정이 우리 교육에 도입되고 운영이 확대되는 현재 시점에서 IB 교육과정에 관한 국내 연구 동향을 분석하여 연구 분야를 구조화하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study analyzed the topics of research related to the IB curriculum using topic modeling and assessed the distribution of domestic research trends through the structured metrics the authors developed. Methods: To this end, 137 papers related to the IB curriculum published in domestic academic journals were collected, and the occurrences of key terms in the Korean abstracts were calculated. Then, topic modeling analysis was applied to the preprocessed Korean abstracts, resulting in the identification of 13 topics. Furthermore, the results were compared and analyzed using the analytical framework which the authors developed by integrating the nine areas related to the academic classification of education with the standards and implementation of the IB curriculum. Results: According to the results of the topic modeling analysis, the most actively researched topic area related to the IB curriculum across 13 research areas was “inquiry-based learning.” In terms of the five academic classification areas, educational technology and methodology accounted for the largest proportion, while research in the areas of educational philosophy and educational assessment was minimal. From the perspective of the IB curriculum standards and practice framework, research was primarily conducted within the category of “learning,” focusing on areas such as curriculum design, learners, teaching methods, and assessment methods. Conclusion: This study analyzed domestic research trends related to the IB curriculum and structured the research field at a time when the curriculum is being introduced and implemented more widely in our education system.
