국문 초록

목적: 이 연구의 목적은 최근 어린이 코믹스를 장악한 유튜브 코믹스의 매체문학적 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 방법: 최근 5년간 어린이 코믹스 출판계에서 두각을 드러내고 있는 유튜브 코믹스 작품들을 대상으로 이 새로운 종류의 책이 매체문학의 관점에서 어떤 특성을 가지고 있는지 살폈다. 결과: 유튜브 코믹스의 실제 작가는 존재감이 없는 몰개성의 존재인 반면, 내포작가는 압도적인 위상으로 캐릭터화 되어 있다. 유튜브 코믹스의 독자는 내포 독자와 실제 독자가 사실상 일치하는 양상을 보인다는 점에서 특징적이다. 결론: 이상의 특성은 유튜브 코믹스뿐 아니라 매체문학 전반에서 폭넓게 진행되고 있는 사안이며, 앞으로도 더 강화될 것으로 보인다. 어린이 독자들은 대중 독자로서 상업적 출판 문화에 영향을 받기도 하지만, 텍스트의 생산 과정에 직접 참여하는 면모를 보인다는 점에서 적극적인 독자로 평가될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the literary characteristics of YouTube comics, which have recently taken over the children’s comics. Methods: I looked at YouTube comics, which have emerged in the children’s comic publishing world over the past 5 years, and examined what characteristics this new type of book has from the perspective of medium literature. Results: The actual creators of YouTube comics are impersonal beings with no presence, while the implied creators are portrayed as characters with overwhelming status. The readers of YouTube comics are unique in that the implied readers and the actual readers are virtually identical. Conclusion: The above characteristics are issues that are being widely discussed not only in YouTube comics but also in media literature in general, and they are expected to be strengthened in the future. Children readers can be evaluated as active readers in that they are influenced by commercial publishing culture as mass readers, but also directly participate in the text production process.
