국문 초록

본 연구의 주요 목적은 초등학교와 이주배경가정 학부모 간의 소통을 증진하기 위해 텍스트마이닝 도구인 텍스톰을 활용하여 가정통신문의 어휘적 특성을 분석하는 데 있다. 구체적으로, 가정통신문에 사용된 어휘의 연계성, 난이도 등의 언어적 특징을 파악하여 이주배경 학부모 교육에 필요한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 1개의 초등학교에서 1년간 제공된 가정통신문 텍스트 367건을 수집하였다. 연구 방법으로는 먼저 텍스트를 정제한 후, 명사를 기준으로 형태소 분석을 수행하였다. 이후 TF(단어 빈도), N-gram(공출현 빈도), CONCOR, Clustering 기법을 활용하여 어휘 간 연계성을 분석하고 이를 시각화하였다. 또한, 기존 어휘등급목록과 비교하여 가정통신문 어휘의 난이도를 분석하였다. 마지막으로, 이주배경 학부모의 언어적 이해를 보장하고 학교와의 소통을 강화하기 위한 실질적 어휘 목록을 제시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 학부모가 학교 및 교육 관련 안내를 받거나 신청하는 데 사용된 어휘의 TF 및 N-gram 빈도가 가장 높았다. 특히 한자어의 비중이 92%로 나타났다. 네트워크 분석 결과, 4-5개의 군집이 형성되었다. (2) 기존 선행연구에서 제시된 어휘등급목록과 비교한 결과, 고급 단계 어휘 및 목록에 없는 단어의 비율이 16-22%로 확인되었다. (3) 학부모를 위한 자료 중 교육활동 이해 영역이 27%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 이주배경 학부모와 학교 간의 효과적인 소통을 지원하고, 실질적인 어휘 개선 방안을 제안함으로써 교육 현장에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The primary aim of this study is to analyze the lexical characteristics of elementary school newsletters using the text-mining tool Textom to enhance communication between elementary schools and parents from immigrant backgrounds. Specifically,the study examines linguistic features such as lexical connectivity and difficulty in newsletters and provides insights for parent education. For this purpose, 367newsletter texts distributed over one year from a single elementary school were collected. The analysis involved text preprocessing and morphological analysis with a focus on nouns. Techniques such as Term Frequency (TF), N-gram,CONCOR, and clustering were used to analyze and visualize lexical relationships. Additionally, the lexical difficulty of the newsletters was evaluated by comparing them with existing lexical level lists. Based on these findings, a practical vocabulary list was proposed to improve linguistic accessibility for immigrant parents and foster better communication with schools. The key findings are as follows: (1) Words related to receiving and applying for school and education information had the highest TF and N-gram frequencies, with 92% of these words being Sino-Korean vocabulary. Network analysis identified the formation of 4-5clusters. (2) Comparison with existing lexical level lists revealed that 16-22% of the vocabulary comprised advanced-level words or words not included in the lists. (3) Among parent-oriented materials, the “understanding of educational activities”category accounted for the largest proportion at 27%. The results of this study are expected to support effective communication between immigrant parents and schools by offering practical strategies for improving vocabulary accessibility,which can be beneficial in educational contexts.
