국문 초록

본 연구는 생성형 AI를 활용하여 KSL 학습자를 위한 교과서 기반 맞춤형 읽기 자료를 개발하고, 그 교육적 활용 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 공립학교 교사 36명을 대상으로 맞춤형 읽기 자료 개발 필요성에 관한 설문조사를 실시하고, Chat GPT가 생성한 읽기 자료 초안에 대한 수정 양상과 만족도를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들은 KSL 학습자의 교과 학습 지원을 위해 교과서 기반의 읽기 자료가 필요하며, 특히 텍스트 난도 조정과 이미지 활용이 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. AI가 생성한 읽기 텍스트에 대해 교사들은 어휘와 문장 수준에서 단순화와 상세화 원리로 수정하였고, 학습 목표 달성을 위해 교과서 원문으로 재수정하거나 부연 설명을 추가하기도 하였다. 교사들은 AI가 생성한 텍스트 자료에 대해 중간 수준 이상의 만족도를 보였으나, 이미지 자료는 개선이 필요하다고 평가하였다. 이러한 결과는 생성형 AI가 KSL 학습자 맞춤형 자료 개발에 효율적 도구가 될 수 있으나, 양질의 자료 생성을 위해서는 교사의 AI 활용 역량 강화와 적절한 교육적 중재가 필수적임을 시사한다. 본 연구는 첨단 기술을 활용하여 KSL 학습자 맞춤형 교과 연계 교육 자료 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서, 향후 교육 현장에서 AI를 활용한 개별화 교육의 실천적 토대를 마련하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop customized textbook-based reading materials for Korean as a Second Language (KSL) students using generative AI and to explore its educational applicability. A survey was conducted with 36 public school teachers regarding the development of customized reading materials, and the revisions and satisfaction levels concerning reading material drafts generated by ChatGPT were analyzed. The findings indicate that teachers recognize the necessity of textbook-based reading materials to support KSL students in their academic studies,emphasizing the importance of text difficulty adjustment and the incorporating images. Teachers revised AI-generated reading texts by applying principles of simplification and elaboration at the lexical and sentence levels and made additional modifications, such as re-editing based on the original textbook content or adding supplementary explanations, to achieve learning objectives. While teachers showed moderate to high satisfaction with AI-generated text materials, they assessed that the image resources required improvement. These results suggest that generative AI can serve as an efficient tool for developing customized materials for KSL students,but the production of high-quality materials necessitates enhanced teacher proficiency in AI utilization and appropriate educational interventions. This study provides foundational research on leveraging advanced technologies for the development of tailored, curriculum-linked educational materials for KSL students, establishing a practical basis for implementing individualized education with AI in future educational settings.
