인공와우 착용기간에 따른 영유아의 청각적 인지능력 변화

국문 초록

인공와우는 청각장애아동의 청각적 기능 및 의사소통 능력을 향상시키는데 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 선천성 혹은 언어습득전 청력 손실된 영유아는 청각적 손실을 보상받는다면 청각적 기능 및 전반적인 의사소통 기능이 향상될 것이다. 선천성 혹은 언어습득전 청각장애 영유아를 위한 청각적 기능발달 정도를 살피기 위한 검사도구가 필요하며, 현재 국내에 알려진 평가도구는 IT-MAIS와 CAP 두 가지이다. 그러나 이 두 검사는 청각적 기능과 수행능력을 평가하며 관찰보고로 이루어지는 다소 주관적인 검사이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 IT-MAIS와 CAP을 이용해 인공와우를 착용한 청각장애 영유아의 청각적 기능변화를 인공와우 착용기간에 따라 살펴봄으로써 청각적 기능과 수행능력을 비교해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 인공와우를 착용한 10명의 청각장애 영유아이고 이들의 생활연령은 17개월에서 38개월 미만이다. 자료처리는 반복 측정와 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 인공와우를 착용한 영유아는 착용전 에 비해 착용기간에 따라 청각적 기능이나 청각적 수행능력이 발달됨을 알 수 있다. 즉 인공와우를 착용한 청각장애 영유아는 꾸준한 청각적 인지발달이 이루어지고 있다.

영문 초록

Generally young children with hearing impaired poses challenges that early intervention provider in definitively determining what early auditory verbal and language capabilities a very young child possesses and whether interventions are yielding the anticipated progress. The imperative to better assess infants and toddlers at even younger time points is made even more pressing by the clinical option of early cochlear implantation at 12months of age or earlier. As a result of this movement toward very early cochlear implantation for some children with deaf, the need for a valid and effective assessment tool that can be used at very early ages has become apparent. Therefore this study was to describe the development and utility of auditory perception using IT-MAIS and CAP. We measured auditory skills in 10 subject who received cochlear implanted between 17months of age and 38 months of age. Repeated measures analysis was conduced to expected auditory skill development after implantation. The IT-MAIS was compared to the CAP scale to determining its validity in functional auditory ability. This results showed that auditory perception for cochlear implant children was increased with the duration of CI use. But we know this doesn't suggest his or her management strategies in place
