부모와의 장애관련동화 토의활동이 일반유아의 장애인식에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 통합교육을 받는 장애 유아의 수가 증가함에 따라 장애에 대한 일반유아의 긍정적인 인식을 길러주는 방안을 모색하고자 시도되었다. 구체적으로 유아와 가장 밀접한 상호작용을 하는 부모와 장애관련동화를 이용한 토의활동을 실시하고 그 과정에 일반유아의 장애인식이 어떻게 변화되는지를 알아보았다. 연구대상은 경상남도 Y시에 소재한 U병설유치원 원아 3명이다. 이들은 장애관련동화를 활용한 토의활동 방안에 대하여 교육을 받은 자신의 부모와 12회기에 걸쳐 토의활동에 참여하였다. 이러한 과정에 대한 녹화자료와 부모와의 면담내용을 질적으로 분석하여 일반유아의 장애인식이 어떻게 변화되었는지를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과;유아의 장애인식은 편견과 이해의 부족을 보이는 ‘장애와의 만남 단계’에서 나와의 공통점을 찾고 관심을 가지는 ‘장애에 대한 개념인식 단계’;편견이 감소하고 긍정적 인식이 증가하는 ‘장애에 대한 이해 단계’로 변화한 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통하여 부모와 함께하는 장애관련동화 토의활동이 일반유아의 장애인식에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The study was conducted to investigate the effects of the discussion activities of fairy tale related disability with parents on disability awareness of children. For this study;The subjects of this study consisted of 3 children and their parents at kindergarten attached to U elementary school situated in Yangsan;Kyungsangnam-do. In order to confirm the process of change on disability awareness;quality analysis was carried. The results of this study are as follows;According to quality analysis of the process of discussion with parents;this study indicated that the children's disability awareness begins to ‘the step of meeting disability’;where there are prejudice and lack of understanding about disability. And the following step is ‘the step of the concept awareness on disability’;where the children find something in common and interest with disability. Then the last step is ‘the step of understanding disability’ where the children decrease prejudice and increase the positive awareness on disability. Consequently;this study demonstrates that in order to improve disability awareness;discussion activities of fairy tale related disability with parents can be used as a considerately effective method.
