장애·비장애 유아 어머니의「부모 참 역량」에 대한 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애 유아와 비장애 유아를 둔 어머니의 「부모 참 역량」이 사회인구학적 요인에 따라, 그리고 자녀의 장애유무에 따라 차이가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 장애 유아와 비장애 유아를 둔 어머니 총 451명이었으며, 「부모 참 역량」척도를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 비장애 유아 어머니의 경우, 사회인구학적 변인 중 학력과 직업유무에 따라 「부모 참 역량」에 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 학력과 직업유무를 통제하였을 때, 비장애 유아와 장애유아의 어머니 간에「부모 참 역량」하위요인은 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 「부모 참 역량」을 지식․기술․태도 차원으로 나누어 살펴보았을 때, 장애 유아의 어머니가 ‘자율적 행동 조절 능력’과 ‘자기 성장․관리 능력’의 기술 차원에서 비장애 유아의 어머니보다 역량이 높은 반면, ‘자기 이해와 대인관계 능력’의 기술 차원은 비장애 유아 어머니보다 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 장애 유아와 비장애 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 「부모 참 역량」을 비교해봄으로써 장애아 보육 및 통합교육 장면에서의 부모교육에 관한 시사점을 제공하는데 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare influence of demographic variables on the 「Authentic Parental Competence」 of mothers who had young children with disabilities and without disabilities. Subjects were 451 mothers from 3 kindergartens, 3 daycare centers, and 3 early childhood intervention centers. The results revealed that maternal occupation and educational level affected maternal the「Authentic Parental Competence」only for mothers of young children without disabilities. However, there were not differences on sub-factors of「Authentic Parental Competence」between two groups. The knowledge dimension of 'understanding one's own self and interpersonal relation' factor of maternal「Authentic Parental Competence」was higher in mothers of young children without disabilities than mothers of young children with disabilities. As well, mothers of young children with disabilities was higher in competence of 'autonomous behavioral regulation' and 'develop and manage one's own self' than the counter ones on the skill dimension. The implications for the parent education needed in integrated early childhood care and education settings were discussed.
