자녀의 장애진단 시기에 따른 장애아동 어머니의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 자녀의 장애진단 시기에 따른 장애아동 어머니의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준에 대해 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 장애 자녀를 둔 장애아동 어머니 117명을 대상으로 하여 공감피로와 공감만족에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 공감피로와 공감만족에 관한 자료는 ANOVA 분석하였다. 연구결과는 전체 장애아동 어머니의 공감피로와 공감만족은 중간 수준으로 나타났으며, 자녀의 장애진단 시기에 따른 장애아동 어머니의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준은 자녀 진단시기가 3년 이상인 집단에서 공감만족에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 장애아동 어머니를 지원함에 있어서 장애자녀가 진단을 받은 후 조기에 적절한 지원이 제공되어야 할 것이며, 이후에도 공감피로를 감소시키고 공감만족을 증가시켜 나갈 수 있는 다양한 지원으로 발전시켜야 할 것이다. 또한 장애아동 어머니가 장애 자녀를 양육하면서 경험할 수 있는 심리‧정서적인 특성과 변화를 잘 이해하고 이를 긍정적으로 이끌어 줄 수 있는 체계적인 지원과 함께 지속적인 사회적 차원의 관심과 노력이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction of mothers of children with disabilities according to the moment of diagnosis of disability. 117 mothers of children with disabilities were asked to complete the questionnaires on compassion fatigue and satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed by using ANOVA. The results were as follows. The overall level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction was showed on average level. For the level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction of mothers of children with disability according to the moment of diagnosis of disability, compassion satisfaction was statistically significant difference in the group that consisted of mothers with children diagnosed with disabilities 3 years ago or more. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of early and systematic support systems for mothers of children with disabilities is crucial to increase their compassion satisfaction and decrease the compassion fatigue.
