국문 초록

이 연구는 초등학생의 다문화 이해 및 태도가 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것으로써, 광주광역시에 소재하고 있는 초등학교 중에서 무선으로 선정된 2개교의 5학년 학생 전체(북구 1개교 178명, 광산구 1개교 162명) 340명을 대상으로 설문 조사하여 기술통계 분석, 피어슨 적률 상관분석, 다중회귀분석 등의 방법으로 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 나타난 결과는 첫째, 초등학생의 다문화 이해는 다문화 수용성의 하위변인 중에서 다문화 관계 형성, 다문화 인식, 다문화 공감, 다문화 태도는 다문화 관계 형성, 다문화 개방성, 다문화 공감에 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 다문화 태도가 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 다문화 이해와 태도는 다문화 수용성의 하위변인 중에서 다문화 관계 형성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 초등학생의 다문화에 대한 올바른 이해와 긍정적인 태도가 다양한 문화와 가치를 인정하고 수용하는 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이 연구는 초등학생의 다문화 수용성을 함양하기 위한 교육 프로그램의 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있으며, 질적 연구 등 다양한 연구 방법을 통하여 연구 가치를 제고할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to investigate an influence on multicultural acceptability according to student ’ s multicultural understanding and attitude in elementary schools. For this, an object for the study was 340 students on 5 grade in elementary school and 301 students among them were analyzed by frequency and percent, mean and standard deviation, t-test, correlation, regression, reliability coefficient(Cronbach ’ s α) etc using SPSS WIN 18.0. The major findings of the study were as follows ; First, there was a correlation between multicultural understanding and multicultural relationship, multicultural awareness, multicultural empathy , and a correlation between multicultural attitude and multicultural relationship, multicultural openness, multicultural empathy in sub- variables of multicultural acceptability. Second, an elementary school student ’ s multicultural attitude affected multicultural acceptability , and multicultural understanding and attitude affected multicultural relationship, gender and multicultural attitude affected multicultural openness, multicultural attitude affected multicultural empathy in sub- variables of multicultural acceptability. Therefore the results of the study let us know an elementary school student ’ s correct understanding and positive attitude of multiculture affect multicultural acceptability .
