국문 초록

이 논문은 한국의 유아 교육 분야에서 이루어진 실행 연구의 특징과 경향을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 한국에서 실행 연구가 어떻게 시작되어 발전하여 왔는지를 먼저 역사적으로 살펴보고 이어서 유아 교육 분야에서 이루어진 실행 연구의 경향을 개관하고 유아 교육 분야 실행 연구의 논문들을 분석하여 그 특징을 밝혔다. 한국에서 실행 연구는 1950년대에 현장 연구라는 이름으로 보급되었으며 기존 현장 연구의 문제점을 개선하기 위해서 1990년대 이후 실행 연구로 개칭되고 순환적이고 질적인 연구의 성격으로 변화하였다. 유아 교육 분야에서는 1990년대에 실행 연구 전통의 영향을 받아서 현장 개선을 위한 연구가 이루어지게 되었다. 유아 교육 분야 실행 연구 논문을 실행 연구 주제, 실행 연구의 방법, 실행 연구의 개선 대상, 실행 연구의 참여자 형태의 네 가지 기준을 적용하여 분석하였는데, 전체적으로 볼 때 유아 교육 분야의 실행 연구는 과거 현장연구의 관행을 탈피해서 교육 현장 개선 연구의 최근 경향을 반영하려는 노력을 어느 정도 보여주고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 전체적인 특징을 보면 교수 방법을 개선하려는 기술적 실행 연구(technical action research)가 주로 수행되고 있으며, 연구가 지향하는 범위도 교실 실행 연구(classroom action research)의 범위에 머물러 있다. 그리고 단독 연구보다는 공동 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있으나 연구 참여자들 간에 협동적인 실행은 잘 관찰되지 않고 있다. 이런 분석에 터하여 실행 연구의 개선을 위한 몇 가지 제안을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to reveal the characteristics and tendency of action research conducted on early childhood education in Korea. The study applied four classification standards to examine the research: theme of the silhaeng study, method of silhaeng study, scope of improvement, and participants of the study. The study found the following results. In general, the action research of early childhood education, since the 1990’s, applied circulative and qualitative research methodology, contributing to overcoming the problems of the past hyeonjang researches in Korea and improving the problems of the education field. However, technical action research was mainly practiced in order to improve teaching methods, and also the range of improvement that the research orientated on only hovered around the category of classroom action research. Furthermore, rather than independent research, joint researches were being executed in majority but the collaboration between the research participants were not observed from the papers. Based on such analysis, the necessity of expanding the range of improvement, which the action research orients on, conducting a large-scale cooperative research, and executing a dialogical and collaborative action research has been suggested by this study.
