예비유아교사의 다문화 신념과 다문화 수용성, 문화 다양성 역량 간의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사의 다문화 신념, 다문화 수용성, 문화 다양성 역량이 어떠한지 파악하고, 이들 변인 간의 관계를 종합적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 대학 유아교육과 학생 579명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시했으며, 자료 분석에는 SPSS Statistics 29.0을 활용하여 평균, 표준편차, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석, 경로분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 예비유아교사는 다문화 신념, 다문화 수용성, 문화 다양성 역량 모두에서 비교적 높은 수준을 보였으며 특히 다문화 신념 중에서는 학생 다양성에 대한 인식이 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 예비유아교사의 다문화 신념, 다문화 수용성, 문화 다양성 역량 간에는 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다중회귀분석 결과, 다문화 신념은 문화 다양성 역량과 다문화 수용성에 직접적으로 영향을 미치고 다문화 수용성도 문화 다양성 역량에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 예비유아교사의 다문화 신념과 다문화 수용성은 문화 다양성 역량에 대해 총 변량의 약 51.3%를 설명하는 것으로 나타났으며 다문화 수용성이 다문화 신념보다 더 높은 설명력을 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 본 연구에서는 예비유아교사의 다문화 교육역량 강화를 위한 교육 방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the levels of multicultural beliefs, multicultural acceptance, and cultural diversity competence among pre-service early childhood teachers, and to comprehensively analyze the relationships among these variables. A survey was conducted with 579 students from early childhood education departments at universities across the country. For data analysis, SPSS Statistics 29.0 was used to perform descriptive statistics(mean, standard deviation), correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis. The findings are as follows: First, pre-service early childhood teachers demonstrated relatively high levels of multicultural beliefs, multicultural acceptance, and cultural diversity competence. Notably, within multicultural beliefs, the perception of student diversity showed the highest average. Second, a statistically significant positive correlation was found among pre-service early childhood teachers' multicultural beliefs, multicultural acceptance, and cultural diversity competence. Multiple regression analysis revealed that multicultural beliefs directly influenced both cultural diversity competence and multicultural acceptance, and that multicultural acceptance further influenced cultural diversity competence. Furthermore, pre-service early childhood teachers' multicultural beliefs and multicultural acceptance explained approximately 51.3% of the total variance in cultural diversity competence, with multicultural acceptance showing a higher explanatory power than multicultural beliefs. Based on these findings, this study proposes educational directions to strengthen the multicultural education competence of pre-service early childhood teachers.
