발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여가 미래계획 수립에 미치는 영향: 자립 의지의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여와 미래계획 수립의 관계에서 자립 의지의 매개효과를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 한국장애인고용공단 고용개발원에서 구축한 발달장애인 일과 삶 실태조사 4차(2023년) 자료를 활용하였으며, 연구 대상은 발달장애 청년 885명이다. 분석 방법으로는 SPSS 23.0과 PROCESS macro를 활용하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여는 미래계획 수립에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여 정도가 높으면 미래계획 수립 정도가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여와 미래계획 수립의 관계에서 자립 의지는 부분매개효과를 보였다. 즉, 발달장애 청년의 사회활동 참여가 미래계획 수립 정도에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 자립 의지를 매개로 미래계획 수립 정도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 결과를 바탕으로 발달장애 청년의 미래계획의 사전 수립을 위한 사회활동 참여를 장려하고, 자립 의지를 고취시키는 방안에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the mediating effect of willingness for independent living on the relationship between social participation and future planning among young adults with developmental disabilities. To achieve this, the study utilized data from the 4th wave (2023) of the Survey on Work and Life of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, conducted by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The study sample consisted of 885 young adults with developmental disabilities. Data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and the PROCESS macro to verify the mediating effect. The key findings are as follows. First, social participation had a significant positive effect on future planning. In other words, young adults with higher levels of social participation demonstrated a greater degree of future planning. Second, willingness for independent living partially mediated the relationship between social participation and future planning. This indicates that social participation not only directly influences future planning but also affects it indirectly through willingness for independent living. Based on these findings, this study discusses strategies to encourage social participation and foster willingness for independent living to promote proactive future planning among young adults with developmental disabilities.
