느린 학습자의 기초학습능력 증진을 위한 근거기반 인지학습치료 실행사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 느린 학습자의 인지적 특성을 파악하고, 뇌 발달과 인지재활을 고려한 근거기반 인지학습치료 후 기초학습능력의 변화추이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 S시 G구 관내의 초등학교에서 2021년 6월부터 2024년 5월까지 의뢰된 ‘느린 학습자’ 27명 중 5가지의 기준으로 3명을 선정하여 개별 특성에 맞춰 실행사례연구를 진행하였다. 근거기반 인지학습치료 실행사례연구는 참여자의 개인적 특성, 사회⁃문화적 맥락, 인지 수준을 고려하여 각 영역에 맞춰 시행되었다. 연구 분석은 본 연구자 2인 외 4인의 평정자와 1인의 수퍼바이저 겸 감수자로 구성된 연구진이 참여하였다. 연구진은 지능검사와 기초학습능력 검사에 기반하여, 5개의 주요 영역과 8개의 하위 범주를 추출하였다. 사전-사후 분석 결과, 개입 전후 비교에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 확인되지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 느린 학습자의 기초학습능력이 1~2년과 같은 단기간의 개입만으로 급격히 향상되기 어려울 가능성을 시사했다. 그럼에도 여전히 인지학습치료는 느린 학습자들의 인지능력 향상을 위한 필수적인 개입 방법으로 고려될 필요가 있다. 실무자의 경험과 관찰을 바탕으로 장기적인 개입 설계를 기반으로 한 실증 연구가 요구되며, 개별 학습자의 변화 과정을 심층적으로 탐색할 수 있는 사례연구의 병행이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine changes in the basic academic skills of slow learners following evidence-based cognitive learning therapy, considering their individual characteristics, including cognition and emotions, as well as their socio-cultural environment. To achieve this, three participants were selected based on five criteria from a total of 27 slow learners referred from elementary schools in G District, S City, between June 2021 and May 2024. A case study approach was employed, tailored to the individual characteristics of each participant. The research analysis was conducted by a research team consisting of two primary researchers, four evaluators, and one supervisor who also acted as a reviewer. The team identified five key domains and eight subcategories based on intelligence and basic academic skills assessments. Pre- and post-intervention analyses revealed no statistically significant differences in the participants' academic skills. These results suggest that the basic academic abilities of slow learners may not improve dramatically within a short intervention period of one to two years. Nevertheless, cognitive learning therapy remains a crucial intervention for enhancing the cognitive abilities of slow learners. Based on practitioners’ experiences and observations, further empirical research is required to design long-term intervention strategies. Additionally, in-depth case studies should be conducted in parallel to explore the developmental trajectories of individual learners.
