국문 초록

그림책 예술과 영성의 관계는 그림책 평론에서는 거의 다루어지지 않은 주제이다. 그러나 최근 다른 예술 영역, 특히 영화 예술 분야는 영화가 관객의 영성에 미치는 영향에 주목하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 그림책 해석을 영성의 관점에서 접근하는 것이다. 이를 위해 은혜의 사전적, 신학적 개념이 무엇인지를 살펴보았으며 세계관 비평을 통해 은혜의 이야기가 가진 메시지의 독특성을 부각시키고자 하였다. 평론 대상이 된 그림책들은 은혜를 베푸는 자가 누구냐에 따라 인물, 사물, 그리고 자연으로 분류되었으며 각 작품들의 고유한 문학적, 시각적, 페리텍스트적 특성을 분석함으로써 이야기 안에 함축된 은혜의 개념을 드러내었다. 본 연구가 그림책의 본질과 해석에 주는 함의는 두 가지로 논의 되었다. 우선 그림책의 본질은 어린이에 대한 성인의 책무보다는 생명이라는 절대선과 관련되어 있으며, Kreitzer(2002)의 신학과 영화의 `해석학적 흐름` 접근은 신학에서 그림책으로, 그리고 그림책에서 신학으로 순환함으로써 그림책 해석의 지평을 넓히는 데에 기여할 수 있다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The relationship between picture book art and spirituality is a topic that is rarely discussed in picture book reviews. Recently, however, other fields of art, especially the field of cinema art, have been paying attention to the influence of movies on the spirituality of the audience. The purpose of this study was to approach the interpretation of picture book from the perspective of spirituality. For this purpose, I examined what the dictionary and then the theological concept of grace are, and tried to emphasize the uniqueness of the message of the grace story through worldview criticism. The picture books reviewed were classified into person(humans, personified animals, and supernational beings), things or objects, and nature according to who is giving grace. By analyzing the unique literary, visual, and peritextual features of each work, the concept of grace implied in the story is revealed. The implications of this study for the nature and interpretation of picture books were discussed in two ways. First, the nature of a picture book is related to the absolute goodness of life rather than the responsibility of the adult to the child, and Kreitzer`s(2002) 'hermeneutic flow' approach to theology and cinema could also contribute to broadening the horizon of picture book interpretation.
