승계예정자의 사립유치원 승계경험에 관한 내러티브

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 승계예정자가 경험한 사립유치원 승계 과정을 살펴보고 승계경험이 지니는 의미를 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 두 명의 사립유치원 승계예정자를 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하고, 내러티브 탐구를 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 승계예정자는 사립유치원을 운영하는 부모의 영향에 의해 유아교육에 입문했으며, 승계 과정에서 갈등과 어려움을 극복하면서 미래 원장으로서 성장해 나가고 있었다. 승계예정자의 경험은 부모인 선임원장의 지원과 대립, 동료교사의 인정과 저항, 도전과 성취의 이야기를 포함하고 있었다. 승계의 과정은 지위이동을 넘어선 승계예정자들의 삶의 재구성을 의미했으며, 부모인 선임원장과의 동반자적 협력과 승계자의 역할수행에 대한 동료교사의 상호적 영향력을 내포하고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 민간 운영의 유아교육기관 승계에 대한 연구의 방향과 정책적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study examines the stories of candidates regarding their life experiences and meaning-making in the process of private preschool succession. Data were drawn from a thesis study that included in-depth interviews with two preschool succession candidates by using the method of narrative inquiry. The findings revealed that the candidates began their career paths in becoming early childhood educators under the guidance of their parents who worked as the directors at preschools which the parents themselves specifically owned. The candidates struggled to overcome hardships and conflicts in their career experiences but continued their journeys to become preschool successors of their director parents. The candidates' stories represented support and tension from their preschool director parents, their colleagues' acceptance and resistance, and challenges and achievement as they went through the process of preschool directorial succession. Secession experiences were analyzed to reconstruct the candidates' lives that involved supportive parental partnerships and reciprocal relationships with colleagues. This study discusses implications for researchers and policy makers to understand the succession of private preschools and child care centers.
