그림책에 나타난 책 읽는 등장인물 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 그림책에 나타난 책 읽는 등장인물을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 책 읽는 등장 인물이 묘사된 그림책 총 50권을 선정하였고, 빈도분석과 질적 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째 그림책에 나타난 책 읽는 주체를 살펴보면 사람이 38권, 동물 24권, 기타(유령, 괴물 등)가 6권이며, 책 읽는 등장인물의 연령은 아동이 37권, 성인이 15권, 노인이 3명으로 나타났다. 또한 책 읽는 등장인물 성별은 남성 27권, 여성 29권, 모름 9권이다. 둘째 그림책에 나타난 책 읽는 이유는 즐거움과 재미29권, 좋음과 행복함 14권, 배움 확대 10권, 정서적 지지와 공감 12권, 기타 또는 모름이 5권으로 나타났다. 셋째 책 읽는 등장인물 특징은 독서광이지만 유익을 주는 존재, 환상적 이야기를 펼치는 존재, 우스꽝스럽고 엉뚱한 존재, 취침 전 책 읽기를 요청하는 존재로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 그림책에서 책을 읽고 있는 등장인물의 유형, 책 읽는 이유 그리고 특징을 분석함으로써 책읽기의 가치와 책 읽기의 방향에도 중요한 시사점을 준다.

영문 초록

The aim of this research was to analyze the characters who are reading books in picture books. The data were collected from 50 picturebooks and analyzed according to their frequency based on a quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The results are presented below. First, the picturebooks had the following characters: 37 books included humans; 24 included animals, and 6 books included everything else(gosh, monster, etc). The ages of the characters in the picturebooks were as follows: 37 books portrayed children; 15 books showed adults, and 3 books depicted an old man. The gender of the characters was as follow; 27 books had male characters; 29 books had female characters, and 9 books had genderless characters.Second, the reasons why characters were reading a book were as follows: 29 books were related to fun and enjoyment; 14 books were related to happiness and just for love; 10 books were related to the expansion of learning; 12 books were related to emotional support, and 5 books were not revealed.Third, the features of the characters' who were reading a book were as follows: (1) A being who- was a bookworm who was very helpful to other people, (2) A being who was a storyteller who one's imagination wander, (3) A being who represented a funny and a bold idea, (4) A being who asked for bedtime reading books.
