유치원 5세 학급의 미디어아트 미술활동에 대한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 다양한 형태의 미디어아트 유아 미술활동에 대한 유아의 반응과 교육적 가치를 탐구하는데 목적을 둔다. 이를 위하여 5세 학급 유아들을 대상으로 자발적인 미술활동을 지원해주는 교육과정과 연계한 미디어아트 애플리케이션을 선정하여 소개한 후, 미디어아트 활동에 대한 유아들의 반응을 관찰하였다. 9주에 걸쳐 이루어진 관찰을 통해 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과, 4가지의 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 유아들은 처음에는 미디어아트의 신기함을 발견하였다가 점차 용이함을 활용하는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 미디어아트 애플리케이션을 통해 미술 요소와 원리에 주목하고 탐색하며 이해하는 모습을 보였다. 셋째, 유아들이 자신의 아이디어를 더 쉽게 표상하고 여러 번의 실패를 통해 더욱 창의적인 디자인을 생산하는 모습을 보였다. 넷째, 유아들이 미술작품에 대한 저마다의 다양한 생각과 느낌을 언어로 공유하는 모습이 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 미디어아트 미술활동이 기존의 누리과정 미술교육에서 추구하는 목적에 맞게, 유아의 흥미와 창의적 표현, 예술적 소양을 증진시키는 유의미한 활동으로서의 적용 가능성을 보여주었다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore children"s responses and educational value to various types of media art activities. To this end, we selected and introduced a media art application linked to the curriculum that supports voluntary art activities for children in a 5-year-old class and then observed the children"s reactions to media art activities. As a result of analyzing the data collected through observations conducted over 9 weeks, four results were derived. First-born children first discovered the novelty of media art, but gradually began to take advantage of its ease of use. Second, they showed attention to, exploration, and understanding of art elements and principles through media art applications. Third, children appeared to represent their ideas more easily and produced more creative designs through multiple failures. Fourth, it appeared that children shared their various thoughts and feelings about artwork through language. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it demonstrated the applicability of media art activities that promotes children"s interest, creative expression, and artistic knowledge keeping in line with the purpose pursued in the existing Nuri curriculum art education.
