그림책『장수탕 선녀님』의 일본어판 분석을 통한 문화번역의 효용성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 일본어판으로 번역된 그림책을 문화번역의 차원에서 분석하여 나라 간 문화의 다양성을 존중하고, 발전적 문화콘텐츠 교류의 효용성을 연구하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 백희나 작가의 『장수탕 선녀님』 일본어판 번역 그림책이다. “번역가의 주관이 들어 있지 않은 완벽한 번역은 없으며, 번역가는 번역의 대상이 되는 문화의 정신을 깊이 이해하고 받아들여 번역이 이뤄져야 한다.”라는 폴 리쾨르의 해석학적 번역론을 토대로 문화번역을 연구하였다. 또한 번역의 과정에서 번역가 하세가와 요시후미 (長谷川義史)의 주관적 해석에 의해 사용된 번역어 간사이 방언이 문화번역에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 그 결과 첫째, 타문화를 훼손하지 않고 흥미롭게 문화의 의미를 잘 전달하였다는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 나라 간 문화의 공통성과 이질성을 체험함으로써 문화 다양성 수용에 기여한다. 셋째, 상호 문화 가치를 존중하고 인정하여 창조적 문화콘텐츠로 발전하는 기반이 될 수 있다. 그림책을 활용한 문화번역은 언어의 제약을 받지 않기 때문에 최적의 텍스트라고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 문화적 다양성 수용이 점진적으로 확대되어 가는 현대에 그림책을 활용한 문화번역의 효용성 연구는 매우 유의미한 연구이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine cultural diversity between countries and study the effectiveness of developmental cultural content exchange by analyzing picture books translated into Japanese from the perspective of cultural translation. The subject of this study was the Japanese version of Baek Heena"s “Jangsutang Fairy”, a translated picture book. “There is no perfect translation that does not include the translator"s subjectivity, and the translator must deeply understand and accept the spirit of the culture being translated.” Cultural translation was studied based on Paul Ricoeur"s hermeneutical theory of translation. In addition, during the translation process, we analyzed how the Kansai dialect of the translated language used through the subjective interpretation of the translator Yoshifumi Hasegawa (長谷川義史) affects the cultural translation. As a result, first, it can be seen that the meaning of culture was conveyed in an interesting way without damaging other cultures. Second, it contributes to the acceptance of cultural diversity by experiencing the commonality and heterogeneity of cultures between countries. Third, respect and recognition of the value of each other"s cultures can serve as a foundation for developing creative cultural content. Cultural translation using picture books can be said to be the optimal text because it is not limited by language. Therefore, in modern times where acceptance of cultural diversity is gradually expanding, research on the effectiveness of cultural translation using picture books is a very meaningful study.
