초등학교 특수교사의 사회과 교육 실태 및 인식

국문 초록

이 연구는 특수학급이 설치된 초등학교 특수교사를 대상으로 특수교육대상학생을 위한 사회과 운영 현황과 특수교사의 사회과 교육에 대한 인식, 요구를 파악하여 효과적인 지원방안을 모색하고자 실시하였다. 경기도 소재 초등학교에 소속된 특수학급 교사 158명을 대상으로 사회과 교육 현황 및 인식에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과에서 특수교사는 사회과 교육을 국어와 수학 과목에 비해 낮은 수준으로 운영하고 있었고, 특수교육대상학생의 사회과 교육을 위해 통합학급 교사와의 협력이 중요하다고 인식하고는 있지만 실제 현장에서의 협력은 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 사회과 교육과정 운영에서 내용 영역별 실행도의 평균 범위는 기본교육과정이 공통교육과정보다 비교적 높게 나타났으며, 사회과 운영을 위한 특수교사의 지원요구로는 사회과를 포함한 교과교육 운영을 위한 행정적 지원과 표준화된 지침의 마련이 높게 나타났다. 향후 초등학교 특수교육대상학생의 효과적인 교과교육을 위해 특수교사의 인식과 지원요구를 고려한 구체적인 실천방안마련의 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the current status, perception, and requirements of social studies education of special education teachers for students who need special education in elementary school, and to find effective support system based on this. A survey was developed about the current status and perception of social studies and conducted on 158 special education teachers who belong to elementary schools in Gyeonggi-do. The study found that special education teachers taught social studies at a lower level than Korean and mathematics subjects. And special education teachers recognized the importance of cooperation between special education teachers and general education teachers for social studies education, but the degree of implementation was found to be low. In the execution of the social studies curriculum, the average range of performance by content area was found to be relatively higher in the basic curriculum than in the common curriculum. As a request for support for social studies education, special education teachers expressed high demands for administrative support and the presentation of standardized guidelines. In order to strengthen social studies education for students with disabilities in an inclusive education environment, it is necessary to prepare field-friendly plans considering the inclusive education environment and perceptions of special education teachers.
