국문 초록

연구목적: 국제 공인 초등 교육과정인 IB PYP(International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme)는 자기 주도적인 평생 학습자 양성을 목표로 하며, 이를 실현하기 위한 핵심 요소로 ATL(Approaches to Learning, 학습 접근 방법)을 제시하고 있다. 본 연구는 IB PYP에서 제시한 ATL에 초점을 맞추어 국어과와 음악과의 통합수업 방안을 탐색하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 연구방법: 문헌 연구를 통해 IB PYP 교수⋅학습의 핵심 요소, ATL의 이론적 기반이 되는 구성주의와 학습자 주도성, ATL의 주요 기능 및 교사의 역할을 고찰하였다. 연구결과: ATL을 중심으로 IB PYP에 기반한 국어과⋅음악과 통합수업의 설계 원리와 절차를 도출하고, 이를 토대로 초등학교 3-4학년을 대상으로 하는 수업안을 개발하였다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 ATL이 학생이 다양한 학습 맥락 속에서 자기 주도적으로 사고하고 탐구하며, 학습 과정을 조절하고 지속적으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 역량 기반의 학습 접근 방식임을 확인하였다. 이는 학습자의 주도성과 깊이 있는 학습을 강조하는 현대교육에 교육적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: IB PYP(The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program), an internationally recognized elementary curriculum, aims to cultivate self-directed lifelong learners and presents ATL (Approaches to Learning) as a key component to achieve this. The purpose of this study is to explore integrated lessons for Korean Language and Music Education, focusing on ATL within the IB PYP framework. Methods: Through a literature review, this study examined the core elements of IB PYP teaching and learning, the theoretical foundations of ATL - constructivism and learner agency, and the skills of ATL and the teacher's role. Results: Based on the findings, design principles and instructional procedures for integrated Korean Language and Music classes were derived focused on ATL in the IB PYP. While using these, a lesson plan was developed for third and fourth-grade elementary students. Conclusion: This study confirms that ATL is a competency-based learning approach that enables students to think and explore independently across various learning contexts, regulate their learning processes, and grow continuously. These findings suggest that ATL has meaningful educational implications for contemporary education, particularly in promoting learner agency and fostering deep learning.
