국문 초록

본 연구는 네일아트 이미지를 Wölfflin과 Delong 이론을 중심으로 분석 방법을 제시 및 해석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구는 네일아트 이미지의 조형적 특성을 체계적으로 분석하기 위하여 Wölfflin의 조형 개념쌍과 Delong의 ABC이론을 기반으로 한 NBC모델을 분석방법으로 제시하였다. 인스타그램 내 해시태그 #nailart를 통해 2025년 3월 게시된 사례 150건을 표본으로 선정하여 NBC모델 방법으로 네일아트 이미지를 분석 및 해석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째는 Wölfflin과 Delong 이론 고찰을 통한 네일아트 이미지 분석에서는 NBC모델 방법이 네일아트 이미지의 다양한 시각적·미적 특성을 체계적으로 분류할 수 있는 분석 방법임을 확인하였다. 둘째는 NBC모델에 기반한 네일아트 이미지의 조형적 특성 분석을 통해 네일 디자인(Nail), 손(Body), 이미지 구성요소(Construct) 간의 복합적 조형성 및 상호작용을 해석할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 셋째는 네일아트 이미지의 조형유형 및 특성 실증분석에서는 폐쇄형(CF)과 전체인식형(WF)이 높은 비율로 나타나 명확한 실루엣과 전체적 조화가 강조되는 현재 트렌드를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 평면형(FF)과 입체형(RF), 명료형(DF)과 불명료형(IF)도 조화롭게 활용되어 미적 다양성과 창의성이 강화됨을 실증적으로 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 NBC 모델을 중심으로 한 네일아트 이미지의 조형적 분석 방법이 대중의 미적 선호와 네일아트의 예술적·기능적 가치를 함께 분석할 수 있는 이론적·실무적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to propose and interpret an analytical method for nail art images based on Wölfflin’s formal concept pairs and DeLong’s ABC theory (Apparel–Body–Construct), leading to the development of the NBC model (Nail–Body–Construct). To systematically analyze the formative characteristics of nail art images, the NBC model, grounded in Wölfflin’s and DeLong’s theories, was adopted as the principal analytical framework. A sample of 150 cases, selected from #nailart posts on Instagram in March 2025, was analyzed and interpreted using the NBC model. The results are as follows. First, the investigation demonstrated that the NBC model, as derived from Wölfflin’s and DeLong’s theoretical foundations, offers a systematic approach for classifying the diverse visual and aesthetic features of nail art images. Second, analysis of nail art images utilizing the NBC model revealed the complex formative features and interactions among Nail (design), Body (hand), and Construct (image components). Third, empirical analysis of the formative types and characteristics of nail art images indicated that Closed Form (CF) and Whole Recognition Form (WF) appeared with high frequency, highlighting the current trend of emphasizing clear silhouettes and overall harmony. Furthermore, both Flat Form (FF)/Rounded Form (RF) and Determinate Form (DF)/Indeterminate Form (IF) were found to be used in a balanced manner, which empirically demonstrates the enhancement of aesthetic diversity and creativity. This study is meaningful in that the NBC model-centered formative analysis method for nail art images enables the analysis of both public aesthetic preferences and the artistic and functional value of nail art from theoretical and practical perspectives.
