국문 초록

본 연구는 미용실이라는 특수한 환경 내에 발생되는 직장내 괴롭힘을 지위위협이론 관점에서 분석하고, 이 문제의 구조적 이해를 통해 개선 방안을 제시하고자 했다. ‘청담샵’으로 알려진, 미용실에서 근무한 경험이 있는 5명의 연구 참여자들과의 심층 인터뷰를 통해 8개의 주제가 도출되었다. 상하 관계뿐만 아니라 동일 직급 내 경쟁 구도에서도 지위 위협이 작동한 결과 괴롭힘으로 표출되었다. 이러한 괴롭힘은 도제식 위계 구조와 같은 조직 문화에 의해 강화되고 반복되는 경향이 있음을 확인했다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes workplace bullying in the unique environment of beauty salons through the lens of status threat theory and aims to provide insights for addressing the issue. Eight key themes were identified through in-depth interviews with five individuals who had experience working at high-end salons known as “Cheongdam Shops.” The findings suggest that status threats arising not only from hierarchical relationships but also from competition among peers of the same rank can manifest as bullying. Furthermore, such bullying tends to be reinforced and perpetuated by organizational cultures rooted in apprenticeship-based hierarchies.
