디지털 성비행 의도에 관한 연구: 청소년의 오픈채팅 분석을 중심으로

국문 초록

청소년의 스마트폰 사용은 사회성의 단절을 의미한다기보다는 기존의 인간관계를 보완 또는 강화하는 차원에서 사용되는 것이 바람직하다고 볼 수 있다. 하지만 어플리케이션을 이용한 청소년의 성매매 유입이 증가하고 있어 디지털 환경이 성범죄의 원인으로 활용되고 있다. 특히, 랜덤채팅앱의 규제가 강화되자 청소년들은 속속 오픈채팅앱으로 이동하고 있다. 본 연구는 질적연구방법을 통해 카카오톡 오픈채팅 내에서 이루어지고 있는 청소년들의 성비행의도에 관하여 탐색하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 자기애 성향이 확인되었다. 외모 과시, 노출에 대한 거리낌 없으며, 왜곡된 자아상이 표출되었다. 둘째, 감정의 불안정과 지배성이 공존하는 현상과 자기통제력의 결핍이나 부족이 관찰되었다. 셋째, 또래 집단의 영향으로 인하여 사회적 규범의 약화가 탐색 되었다. 분석대상의 청소년들은 또래 관계에서 오픈채팅을 처음 접한 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 오픈채팅에 대한 우호적 태도는 성적 행동에 대한 왜곡이나 인식 저하로 학습되어지고 있었다. 이와 같은 요인들은 오픈채팅을 통하여 성매매 및 성착취로 이어질 가능성을 높이며 심리적 기반으로 작용하고 있었다. 특히, 익명성과 접근성, 자극성 등이 결합 된 디지털 환경은 청소년의 성비행을 매개하고 있었다. 따라서 오픈채팅의 활용은 그루밍 범죄의 위험성에 노출되어 있으며, 이를 예방하기 위한 다차원적 접근과 통합적 대응의 필요성을 제안한다.

영문 초록

Adolescent smartphone use should not be regarded as a sign of social isolation but rather as a means to complement and reinforce existing social relationships. However, the increasing involvement of adolescents in prostitution through mobile applications suggests that digital environments are being utilized as tools for sexual crimes. As regulations on random chat applications have tightened, adolescents have increasingly migrated to open chat platforms. This study employed a qualitative research method to explore adolescents’ intentions toward sexual misconduct within KakaoTalk open chatrooms. The findings revealed four main themes. First, narcissistic tendencies were observed, including self-display, a lack of restraint in exposure, and distorted self-image. Second, emotional instability and dominance coexisted with insufficient self-control. Third, peer influence was found to weaken social norms, as most participants were first introduced to open chatrooms through peers. Fourth, a favorable attitude toward open chatting contributed to distorted perceptions and decreased awareness regarding sexual behavior. These psychological factors collectively heightened the likelihood of adolescents engaging in prostitution or sexual exploitation through open chat. Moreover, the anonymity, accessibility, and stimulation of digital spaces mediated adolescents’ sexual misconduct. This study emphasizes the risk of grooming crimes in open chat environments and calls for multidimensional and integrated preventive strategies.
