텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 한국어교원 관련 언론보도 양상 분석

국문 초록

목적: 본 연구는 제도 시행 20년이 된 한국어교원에 관한 언론보도를 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하고 분석하여 한국어교원의 정책 및 현실을 살펴보고자 한다. 방법: 언론보도 분석 기간은 한국어교원 자격 제도가 시행된 2005년 7월 28일부터 2024년 12월 31일까지이며 분석 방법은 언론 분석 사이트 ‘빅카인즈’를 활용한다. 또한 언론보도 수가 급증한 2011년, 2015년, 2019년, 2021년, 2024년을 상세 분석한다. 결과: 2011년 언론보도에서 한국어교원은 다문화가정을 대상으로 한 언어 교육 수요가 증가하면서 한국어교원도 양적으로 늘어난 시기임을 알 수 있다. 2015년에는 한국어교원을 양성하기 위한 제도화가 이루어졌으며 2019년에는 한국어교원을 위한 실무 교육과 사이버대학이 활성화되고 2021년은 팬데믹 이후 비대면 전환과 교육 기관이 확대되었으며, 마지막으로 2024년은 한국어교원의 전문성을 강조하는 동시에 한국어교원의 열악한 노동 현실도 확인할 수 있었다. 결론: 언론보도를 통해 한국어교원의 현주소를 엿볼 수 있었다. 향후 한국어교원 정책은 한국어교육 수요에 의해 교원 수를 양적으로 늘리는 것이 아닌 질적인 성장으로 나아가야 할 것이며 더불어 한국어교원의 노동 환경 및 교사 처우 개선도 필요하다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to examine the policies and realities surrounding Korean language teachers by analyzing media coverage using text mining techniques, in light of the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Korean language teacher certification system. Methods: The analysis covers media reports from July 28, 2005, when the system was introduced, to December 31, 2024, utilizing the media analysis platform “BigKinds.” In-depth analysis was conducted for the years with a significant increase in media reports: 2011, 2015, 2019, 2021, and 2024. Results: Findings reveal that in 2011, six years after the system was introduced, the number of Korean language teachers increased due to rising demand for language education in multicultural families. In 2015, institutional systems for training Korean language teachers were established. In 2019, practical training programs and cyber universities for teacher education became more active. The year 2021 saw an expansion of educational institutions and a transition to online formats due to the pandemic. Finally, in 2024, with the global Korean Wave and the growth of digital education, there was increased emphasis on the professionalism of Korean language teachers, while simultaneously highlighting the harsh working conditions they face. Conclusion: This study concludes that media reports provide valuable insight into the current status of Korean language teachers. Future policy should aim not only to increase the quantity of teachers to meet educational demand but also to enhance their quality, while improving labor conditions and professional treatment.
