국문 초록

이 연구는 한국 교육 맥락에서 내러티브 탐구의 도전과 과제를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 내러티브 탐구 방법론의 도입과 정립 과정을 검토하고, 이를 토대로 한국 교육 분야에서 번역서와 저서, 학술논문 등을 통해 내러티브 탐구를 어떻게 수용했는지를 살펴보았다. 다음으로, 내러티브 탐구다움과 내러티브 탐구자의 역할에 대한 이론적 논의를 검토한 후, 나의 사례를 통해 한국적 맥락이 잘 드러나는 참여자의 경험을 3차원적 내러티브 탐구 공간에서 어떻게 탐구했는지 성찰했다. 마지막으로, 내러티브 탐구 이론에 근거하여 내러티브 탐구자가 되어가는 과정에서 마주한 주요 변곡점을 살펴본 뒤, 수행 과정에서 경험한 쟁점과 딜레마를 제시하고, 한국 교육에서 요구되는 내러티브 탐구의 과제를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the challenges and tasks associated with narrative inquiry in the context of Korean education. To this end, it first reviews the process by which narrative inquiry methodology was introduced and established, and then investigates how it has been embraced-particularly in the field of Korean education-through translated works, monographs, and academic journal articles. Next, building on a theoretical review of the defining characteristics of narrative inquiry and the role of the narrative inquirer, the study reflects on how participants’ experiences which clearly illustrate the Korean context, were explored within a three-dimensional narrative inquiry space by drawing on the author’s own case. Finally, in light of narrative inquiry theory, it discusses several pivotal moments in the author’s journey to becoming a narrative inquirer, addresses key issues and dilemmas encountered in the research process, and proposes tasks necessary to further advance narrative inquiry in Korean education.
