한국의 사회문화적 맥락에서 본 문서분석 연구의 동향

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국에서 문서분석 연구가 어떻게 발전해 왔으며, 한국의 사회문화적 특성을 어떻게 조명해 왔는지 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 기존의 연구 성과들을 검토하여 해당 분야의 연구 경향을 밝히는 데 적합한 메타분석 방법을 활용하였다. 한국에서 문서분석 연구의 주요한 특징은 크게 네 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫 번째 특징은 많은 연구들이 한국 문화의 독자성을 규명하고 있다는 점이다. 특히 역사학자들은 과거의 문헌들을 통해 주요 사건과 현상을 재조명함으로써 한국 문화만의 독자성을 규명하였다. 두 번째 특징은 문서분석 연구들이 식민주의를 극복하기 위한 탈식민주의를 실천하고 있다는 점이다. 탈식민주의 담론은 한국 문학 분석에 활용되었으며, 교육과정과 교과서를 새로운 시각으로 검토하는 계기가 되었다. 세 번째 특징은 한국의 문서분석 연구에서 다문화사회에 대한 연구가 현저하게 나타나고 있다는 점이다. 이는 해방 이후 단일민족의 우수성을 강조했던 한국 사회의 배타적 민족주의 담론이 다문화사회를 포용하는 새로운 패러다임으로 전환되고 있음을 보여준다. 네 번째, 한국에서 문서분석은 과거의 문서들을 현대적 연구방법론으로 재해석하고, 다양한 학문 분야와 연계하며 연구 영역을 더욱 확장해 나가고 있다. 이러한 특징을 종합해 볼 때, 한국에서 수행된 문서분석 연구는 단순히 자료 수집 방법을 넘어 한국만의 사회문화적 현상을 이해하고 해석하는 데 강점을 지니고 있다. 더 나아가 과거와 현재를 연결하고 새로운 통찰을 제공하는 중요한 연구 방법으로서 가치를 지닌다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore how document analysis research has developed in Korea and how it has illuminated Korea’s sociocultural characteristics. To this end, the study employed meta-analysis methods suitable for identifying research tends by examining existing research achievements. The major characteristics of document analysis research in Korea can be organized into four categories. The first characteristic is that many studies have identified the uniqueness of Korean culture. In particular, historians have illuminated the uniqueness of Korean culture by reexamining major events and phenomena through historical documents. The second characteristic is that studies are implementing post-colonialism to overcome colonialism. Post-colonial discourse has been utilized in Korean literary analysis and has become an opportunity to examine curriculum and textbooks from a new perspective. The third characteristic is that research on multicultural society is notably emerging in Korean document analysis research. This shows that the exclusive nationalist discourse of Korean society, which emphasized the superiority of a single ethnicity after liberation, is shifting to a new paradigm that embraces multicultural society. Fourth, document analysis research in Korea is reinterpreting historical documents using modern research methodologies and expanding its research scope by connecting with various academic fields. When these characteristics are synthesized, Korean document analysis research has strengths in understanding and interpreting Korea’s unique sociocultural phenomena beyond simply being a method of data collection. Furthermore, it holds value as an important research method that connects the past and present while providing new insights.
