국문 초록

본 연구는 미디어 사용의 저연령화가 심화되는 현대사회에서 아버지의 미디어 중재 유형이 유아기 자녀의 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써, 유아의 정서지능 향상 및 부모의 바람직한 미디어 지도 방안에 대한 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 만 3~5세 유아를 자녀로 둔 아버지 230명을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t 검증, 일원분산분석(ANOVA), Pearson 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 아버지의 일반적 배경에 따라 미디어 중재 유형에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 긍정적 미디어 중재 유형은 유아 정서지능의 모든 하위 요인과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 부정적 중재 유형 또한 자기 정서 조절을 제외한 대부분의 요인에서 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 반면, 방임형 중재 유형은 유아 정서지능과 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 아버지의 긍정적 및 부정적 중재 유형은 유아의 정서지능에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤으나, 방임형 중재 유형은 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 유아의 적절한 미디어 사용과 정서지능 증진을 위한 아버지의 구체적이고 바람직한 미디어 중재 방향을 모색하는 데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the effects of fathers’ media mediation styles on the emotional intelligence of young children in the context of modern society, where media usage is becoming increasingly prevalent at younger ages. By investigating this relationship, the study seeks to provide implications for enhancing children’s emotional intelligence and for developing effective media guidance strategies for parents. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 230 fathers of children aged 3-5 years. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0, employing t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed three key findings. First, significant differences were observed in fathers’ media mediation styles depending on their general background. Second, fathers’ positive media mediation was significantly positively correlated with all sub-factors of children’s emotional intelligence, while negative mediation was also positively correlated with most sub-factors except for self-emotional regulation. In contrast, neglectful mediation showed a negative correlation with children’s emotional intelligence. Third, positive and negative mediation styles of fathers had significant positive effects on children’s emotional intelligence, whereas neglectful mediation had a negative effect. These findings can serve as foundational data for exploring concrete and desirable directions for fathers’ media mediation to promote appropriate media use and enhance emotional intelligence in young children.
