프랑스어권 학습자의 한국어 삼중 대립 폐쇄음의 습득 양상에 기반한 한국어 자음 교육 제안 - 제시 순서와 음가를 중심으로

국문 초록

본고는 삼중 체계 대립음의 습득 양상에 중점을 두어 프랑스어권 학습자를 위한 자음(자) 교육 방안을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 첫째로 프랑스어권 학습자의 삼중 대립 폐쇄음의 습득 양상을 연구하였고, 둘째로 초급 한국어 교재의 한국어 자음 교육 방법을 살펴보았다.음향음성학적 종단 연구 결과에 따르면 프랑스어권 학습자는 격음과 경음을 잘 인지한 반면에 평음을 인지하는 데에 어려움이 나타났다. 이어서 한국과 프랑스에서 출간된 초급 한국어 교재 7종을 살펴보았는데 자음자의 음가와 자음자의 제시 순서에 수정 및 보완의 필요성이 제기되었다.따라서 본고는 먼저 자음자의 음가를 변이음과 국제음성기호로 표기하는 것을 제안하며, 자음자의 제시 순서는 'ㅇ' → 비음과 유음 → 격음과 'ㅎ' → 경음 → 평음으로 제시하는 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study proposes a pedagogical strategy for presenting Korean consonants, with particular emphasis on the three-way contrast stops, tailored for French-speaking learners of Korean. It is crucial to consider learners’ prior linguistic systems, as their native language significantly influences second language acquisition. The study addresses two main areas: 1) the acquisition of Korean three-way stop consonants, and 2) issues related to the presentation of Korean consonants in widely used beginner-level Korean language textbooks. Specifically, this study investigates the longitudinal perceptual acquisition of the Korean three-way stop system. Findings indicate that learners tend to acquire aspirated stops earlier and more accurately, followed by fortis consonants, whereas lenis consonants are often poorly recognized. Furthermore, the study analyzes the sequence and phonetic representation of Korean consonants in existing textbooks published in both Korea and France. Significant variation is observed in the order of consonant presentation and the depiction of their phonetic representations across different textbooks. Based on the findings, this study proposes a revised sequence for introducing Korean consonants: 1) null initial consonant ‘ㅇ’, 2) nasals and liquids, 3) aspirated consonants, 4) fortis consonants, and 5) lenis consonants.
