국문 초록

본 연구는 제2언어로서의 한국어(KSL) 교실에서 교사와 학습자의 언어 실천을 중심으로 정체성 협상을 미시문화기술지 담화분석을 통해 탐색하였으며, 특히 한국어 전용 규범 속에서 영어 사용이 정체성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 언어 사용을 존재론적 실천으로 간주하여 발화, 침묵, 시선, 제스처, 언어 선택을 정체성 구성의 핵심 요소로 분석하였고, Gee의 정체성 코드, 김용걸의 확장 코드, Dörnyei의 L2 동기자아, Bloome의 담화분석 틀 등을 통합적으로 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 언어 코드와 정체성 코드가 일대일 대응되지 않으며, 다중 언어화자의 각 언어 자원이 언어간 정체성 협상에 영향을 미치고, KSL/KFL 구분은 실천 공동체 맥락에서 재정의될 필요가 있음을 밝혔다. 이를 통해 정체성 기반 담화 분석의 방법론적 가능성을 입증하고, 한국어교육 및 이중언어학 분야에서 언어 실천의 사회문화적·존재론적 의미를 재조명하였다. 또한 교육 현장에서 교사의 언어 선택 전략 및 공동체 기반 수업 설계의 필요성을 강조함으로써 실천적 함의를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study explored identity negotiation in Korean as a second language (KSL) classrooms by focusing on the language practices of teachers and learners through Microethnography discourse analysis, particularly analyzing the influence of English use on identity within the norms of the Korean language. Considering language use as an ontological practice, this study analyzed speech, silence, gaze, gestures, and language choice as core elements of identity construction, integrating Gee's identity codes, Kim Yong-gil's extended codes, Dörnyei's L2 motivational self, and Bloome's discourse analysis framework. The results revealed that language codes and identity codes do not correspond one-to-one, that each language resource of multilingual speakers influences interlingual identity negotiation, and that the distinction between KSL and KFL needs to be redefined in the context of a practice community. This study demonstrated the methodological potential of identity-based discourse analysis and reexamined the sociocultural and ontological significance of language practices in Korean language education and bilingual studies. Additionally, it emphasized the necessity of teachers' language choice strategies and community-based lesson design in educational settings, thereby providing practical implications.
