국문 초록

본 연구는 1990년대부터 2020년대까지 다문화 연구와 한국어 교육 분야에서 사용된 연구 방법론의 변화를 분석한다. 각 시기의 학술 논문을 연도별로 분류하고, 그 방법론적 특성을 면밀히 검토함으로써, 이들 분야가 이론 중심의 초기 단계에서 점차 실증적이고 복합적인 연구 설계로 발전해왔음을 확인하였다. 1990년대는 국제 사례를 참조한 이론적 탐색과 정책 분석이 주를 이루었고, 2000년대에는 이주 노동자, 결혼이민여성 등 한국 내 특정 집단을 대상으로 한 질적 연구 및 설문조사 기반의 실증 연구가 본격화되었다. 2010년대에는 내러티브 탐구, 담화 분석, 근거이론 등 고도화된 질적 접근과 통계 분석을 활용한 양적 연구가 병행되면서, 실제 교육 현장에 적용 가능한 교수학적 해결책에 대한 관심이 증가하였다. 2020년대에 들어서는 텍스트 마이닝, 역동적 시스템 이론 등 첨단 이론 및 계산 기반 방법론이 도입되어, 학습자 중심 접근과 기술 통합이 두드러진다. 이러한 연구 방법론의 진화는 한국 사회의 다문화적 변화와 학문 분야의 성숙을 반영하며, 복합적인 사회 문제에 대응하려는 학문적 노력의 다양성과 엄밀성을 보여준다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the evolving trends in research methodologies employed within multicultural studies and Korean language education from the 1990s to the 2020s. By categorizing selected academic papers by decade and meticulously examining their methodological approaches, this research confirms a progression from an initial focus on theoretical and policy reviews to increasingly empirical and multifaceted research designs. The 1990s were predominantly characterized by theoretical exploration and policy analysis, often drawing from international cases. In the 2000s, empirical studies (qualitative and survey-based) began to emerge, shifting focus to specific groups within Korea, such as migrant workers and female marriage immigrants. The 2010s saw a diversification and sophistication of empirical methodologies, including advanced qualitative approaches like narrative inquiry, discourse analysis, and grounded theory, alongside quantitative studies utilizing statistical analysis , with an increasing emphasis on practical pedagogical solutions. By the 2020s, the adoption of advanced computational and theoretical models, such as text mining and dynamic system theory , became prominent, further highlighting learner-centered approaches and technological integration. This methodological evolution reflects the changing multicultural landscape of Korean society and the maturation of the academic field, demonstrating the rigor and diversity of research aimed at addressing complex real-world issues.
