국문 초록

본 연구는 정치적으로 혼란기이자 ‘예총(한국예술문화단체총연합회)’을 중심으로 문화예술계의 구심점이 강화되었던 1960년대의 ‘사회 참여 무용’에 대해 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 말하는 ‘사회 참여 무용’이란 일반사회의 각종 행사(공간) 에 참여한 무용을 말한다. 이 시기 무용가들은 단순한 예술활동 뿐 아니라 사회의 여러 공간에서 활동했었고, 이 공간에는 무용가가 아닌 일반인들의 활동도 매우 왕성했다. 이러한 점을 1960년대 무용문화의 특수성이라 보고 본 연구에서는이를 무용의 ‘사회 참여’라는 시각 속에 살펴보고자 한다. 1960년대 신문기사에서 찾아보면 국가기념일, 환영회, 위문공연, 정부 관련 행사 등이 있었다. 정치적으로 1960년대는 5.16군사쿠테타로 인한 박정희정권이 집권한 시기로, 예총과 예총 산하의 조직들은 기본적으로 박정희 정부의 국가주도적 통치 체제와 문화정책의 기반 위에 존재했으며, 국가의 기본 정책방향을 충실히 따라야 하는 관제적 성격을 지녔다. 이러한 정치적·예술사적 배경 속에서 이루어진1960년대 무용의 사회 참여 양상을 알아보기 위해 당대의 신문과 영상자료를 참고하려고 한다. 신문에 기록된 무용 기사 중 ‘사회 참여 무용’에 해당하는 기사를모두 찾아 주제별로 카테고리화 하여 1960년대 무용의 사회 참여 흐름을 확인하였으며 무용 영상을 통해 작품의 경향성(안무 경향, 동작 스타일 등)을 분석하였다.

영문 초록

This study researched into ‘social participation dances’ in the 1960s, which is politically a period of confusion. ‘Social participation dances’ referred to in this study are dances that participated in various events (spaces) in general society. During the foregoing period, dancers were active not only in simple artistic activities but also in various spaces in society, and in such spaces, dance activities of ordinary people, who were not dancers, were also very active. Viewing the foregoing as a special characteristic of the dance culture of the 1960s, this study was intended to examine it from the perspective of ‘social participation’ of dances. Meanwhile, the 1960s was a period when the Park Junghee regime came to power through the May 16 Military Coup, and the Federation of Korean Arts and Culture Organizations and organizations under the Federation of Korean Arts and Culture Organizations, where dancers were active, basically existed on the basis of the Park Junghee government’s state-led ruling system and cultural policies, and had a government-controlled nature that they had to comply with the government’s basic policy directions. This study referred to the newspapers and video materials of the time to investigate the aspect of the social participation of dances in the 1960s, which took place in the political and cultural background as such. Among the dance articles recorded in newspapers, all articles corresponding to ‘social participation dances’ were found and categorized by topic to identify the stream of the social participation of dances in the 1960s, and the tendencies of the works (choreography tendencies, movement styles, etc.) were analyzed through dance videos.
