ChatGPT를 활용한 대학 글쓰기 수업 방안 연구 - 주제 선정을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학 글쓰기에서 ChatGPT를 활용하여 비판적으로 주제를 선정하는 수업 방안을 목표로 한다. 학술적 글쓰기 과정에서 주제 선정은 대체로 화제 탐색, 연구범위 한정, 참고문헌 탐색, 주제 선정의 단계로 이루어진다. 화제를 탐색하고 주제를구체화하는 과정을 쉽게 접근하기 위해 ChatGPT 사용을 제안했다. 주제선정 과정의수업은 기존에 “주제선정-자료수집-조별실습”의 단계에서 “가주제①-자료찾기-가주제②-자료찾기-조별실습”로 확장하였다. 이는 자기주도적 학습을 강화하는 목표를 담고 있다. 이에 대한 학생들의 인식을 조사하기 위해 설문과 실습 보고서를 작성하게 했다. 설문 결과 학생들은 대부분 ChatGPT 사용에 부정적이었다. 그러나 ChatGPT 사용한 30%의 학생이 긍정적인 효능감을 보여주었다. ChatGPT 사용이 효능감으로 연결된다는 점에서 대다수 학생이 이용할 수 있는 학교의 지원이 필요하다. 또한 학술적글쓰기의 경우 참고문헌 인용에 따른 근거들이 필요하다는 점에서 ChatGPT의 편리함에 의문을 제기했다. 현재 AI 기반 교육의 중요성이 대두된 만큼 학과, 학교 및 학습성취도와 관련된 수요 조사가 세밀히 되어야 개별화된 학습이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. AI 기반 교육은 학생 맞춤형이라는 점에서 교사가 하는 수업의 보조 도구로 활용될수 있다. 학습자의 교육 소외 현상을 완화한다는 점에서도 긍정적이다. 다만 본 설문결과에 따라 맞춤형 교육의 현실화 과정에서 학생들의 교육 소외 현상이 인공지능 기술로 완전히 해소되는지 의문이 든다. 오히려 인공지능 기술을 활용하는데 근본적인전제는 비판적으로 논의를 완성하고자 하는 자기주도성에 있다. 이런 의미에서 AI 기반 교육은 기술의 적용 과정보다, 근본적인 문해력 및 자기주도성이 전제되는 방향으로 수업이 진행되어야 한다. AI 기반 교육을 통해 개별 학습이 가능하기 위해서는 세분화된 학생들의 학습 맥락이 고찰되어야 한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to create a college writing class that critically selects topics using ChatGPT. In the academic writing process, topic selection generally comprises the following steps: topic search, research scope limitation, reference search, and topic selection. This study proposes using ChatGPT to access the process of exploring and specifying topics easily. The existing class related to topic selection comprised “topic selection - data collection - group practice,” however, it was revised to “pro visional topic ① - data search - provisional topic ② - data search - group practice.” It aimed to strengthen self-directed learning. To examine student perceptions, they were administered questionnaires and reports. The survey results revealed that most students responded negatively regarding the usage of ChatGPT. However, 30% of the students who used ChatGPT demon strated positive efficacy. Considering that the use of ChatGPT leads to a sense of efficacy, support from schools is required so that most students can use it. As AI-based education has become significant, student learning contexts related to departments, schools, and learning achievements must be discussed in detail. These considerations make individualized learning possible. AI-based education can be used as an auxiliary tool in classes because it is cus tomized for students. Moreover, this is positive, because it alleviates learners’ edu cational alienation. However, based on the results of this survey, it is questionable whether students’ educational alienation will be completely resolved with artificial intelligence technology during the process of realizing customized education. Rath er, the fundamental premise of using artificial intelligence technology is self-direc tion to complete discussions critically. Thus, AI-based education should proceed in a direction that presupposes fundamental literacy and self-direction rather than the process of applying technology. To enable individual learning through AI-based education, students’ detailed learning contexts must be considered.
