인터페이스-스크린, 응시와 봉합 드러내기

국문 초록

본 연구가 주목하는 것은 인터페이스-스크린(interface-screen)의 효과와 미학이영화텍스트 내에 어떤 의미 맥락을 형성하는지 규명하고 역으로 응시(gaze)와 봉합(suture) 그리고 인터페이스-스크린의 개념을 분절하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구는 라캉의 응시와 스크린 개념 등을 정리하고, 지젝이 조명한 영화이론의 토대인 봉합과 영화미학의 정수인 인터페이스-스크린을 이해하고 조명한다. 본 연구는 기존 연구가 갖는 한계를 응시와 봉합 그리고 인터페이스-스크린의 개념적 어휘 안에서 분석함으로써 영화비평과 영화이론 그리고 영화예술 미학의지평을 확충한다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 주제가 ‘윤리’이고 스타일에서 의도적으로 ‘봉합과 응시 드러내기’를 표현한다고 평가되는 키에슬로프스키(Krzysztof Kieslowski)의 영화를 분석하고 이를 토대로 동시대 거장 중에 하네케(Michael Haneke)와 봉준호(Bong Joon-ho)의 영화를 분석한다. 본 연구는 다음의 순서로 수행된다. 첫째, 응시와 봉합 그리고 ‘인터페이스-스크린’의 개념을 정리하고 해석한다둘째, 키에슬로프스키의 <사랑에 관한 짧은 필름>(1988)과 <살인에 관한 짧은필름>(1988)을 조명하고 해석한다. 셋째, 미카엘 하네케의 <하얀 리본>(2009)과 <아무르>(2012)를 분석하고 해석한다. 넷째, 봉준호의 <살인의 추억>(2003)과 <기생충>(2019)을 분석하고 해석한다. 다섯째, 세 작가의 작품을 통해 살펴본 응시와 인터페이스-스크린의 양상들과개념을 정리한다.

영문 초록

The focus of this paper is to study what the effect and aesthetics of the interface-screen form within the film texts and to articulate the concepts of gaze, suture, and interface-screen in reverse. Slavoj Žižek particularly focuses on the effect of interface-screen intervention to prevent classical suture effects from working. This study does summarize Lacan’s gaze concept, and goes a step further to understand and establish the suture, the foundation of film theory illuminated by Žižek, and the interface-screen, the essence of film aesthetics. From this point of view, this study does analyze Krzysztof Kieslowski’s films of which the theme is “ethics,” not “moral,” and of which the style intentionally expresses “interfacescreen.” This paper sheds light on and interprets Kieslowski, Haneke and Bong Joon-ho among contemporary masters to gauge the effectiveness of the ‘interface-screen’. This study is conducted in the following order: First, this paper does organize and interpret the concepts of gaze, suture and ‘interface-screen’ as the absolute Other. Second, this paper does reinterpret Krzysztof Kieslowski’s (1988) and (1988). Third, this paper does analyze Michael Haneke’s (2009) and (2012). Fourth, this paper does analyze Joon-ho Bong’s (2003) and (2019) Fifth, this paper does organize the aspects and concepts of the interface-screen examined through the works of the three artists.
