국문 초록

이 연구는 정신지체교육 교사들에게 요구되는 수행능력(CEC 국제표준)을 우리나라 정신지체학교 교사들의 교직경력에 따라 그 '중요도'와 '수행정도'를 평가하여, 그 결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 정신지체교육 교사들의 전문능력 향상을 위한 지침을 제시하고자 한 것이다. 정신지체교육 교사의 수행능력은 정신지체교육에 결정적인 영향을 미친다. 정신지체교육 교사에게 요구되는 수행능력(CEC 국제표준)에 대해 우리나라 정신지체교사들은 그 '중요도'는 높이 평가하고 있으나, 스스로의 '수행정도'에 대해서는 상대적으로 낮게 평가하고 있다. 교직경력에 따라 '중요도'는 5년이상~10년 미만의 경력을 가진 교사들이 가장 높게 인식하고 있으며, '수행정도'에 대해서는 경력이 많을수록 자신의 수행능력을 높게 평가하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study is to analysis the rating results by korean special school educators for the mentally retarded on competencies(CEC International Standards) needed for mental retardation education according to their type of career. The purpose of this study is to propose an alternative plan for the pre-teacher education courses and securing the teachers position on the korean education for the mentally retarded, by evaluating the level of perception of teachers on competencies according to CEC International Standards and their performances.The findings showed that the teachers competencies have an important role in the mental retardation education. Focused on the teachers competencies suggested by CEC International Standards, the korean educators for the mentally retarded recognize the importance of the competencies, but they carry out their teaching somewhat not effectively. Teachers who have career from 5 years to 10 years in the importance of the competencies recognize highly than other teachers. In addition, the more having career, the more higher weighing up their competencies
