국문 초록

정신지체아동 교육에서 지원중심의 접근 배경과 지원의 개념을 밝혀, 이를 바탕으로 우리의 교육상황에서 그 적용 방안을 모색하기 위하여 특수교육패러다임 관련 문헌과 AAMR의 1998년, 2002년 정의의 배경의 분석을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정신지체아동 교육에서의 지원중심 접근은 특수교육의 패러다임을 반영하고 있다. 이러한 패러다임은 정신지체아동에 대한 긍정적인 기대의 변화, 교육에서의 생활연령과 기능적 능력에 기초한 접근을 반영하고 있다. 둘째, 지원은 서비스에 비해 보다 넓은 개념인 동시에 보다 전체적인 특성을 나타내는 일련의 지원 및 중제의 개념이다. 지원은 지역사회 중심, 개인의 기능과 참여, 자기결정을 향상시키는 특성을 갖는다. 셋째, 우리의 교육상황에서 지원중심 교육으로의 전환을 위한 대 원칙은 학생중심의 서비스와 지원에 대한 개념이 확립되어져야한다. 이를 위해서는 지역사회중심의 서비스 네트워크가 구축되고, 이들에 대한 훈련되어져야 한다.

영문 초록

The analysis led to the following conclusion with respect to related research literature. First, The backgrounds of support-centered approaches special educational activities can be summarized as follows; (a) Positive expectations for the life experience of individuals with disabilities. (b) Changes in forms depict the condition of disability. (c) Focusing on behavior showing their chronological-ages rather than their mental-ages. Secondly, the concept of support in special education must contain both individuality and mobility. The former suggests that it must be fitted to the individual's situation and characteristic's. The latter suggests that support must follow the people with disabilities who need it. Thirdly, to apply a support-centered concept of special education, it must be a consumer-driven service with a local support network and community-centered activities. Also, individuals with disabilities, their families, teachers, and the public have to receive education and training to utilize support based approaches.
