국문 초록

본 연구에서는 읽기수업에 대한 학습장애 학생과 일반학생의 학습동기를 비교하였다. 일반적으로 학습장애 학생의 경우 일반학생에 비해 학습동기가 낮은 것으로 알려졌다. 그러나 실제 선행연구 결과들은 학습동기에 있어서 두 집단 간에 일관된 결과를 제시하지 못하고 있다. 특히 중학교 읽기수업과 같이 구체적인 과목과 학년을 대상으로 학습장애 학생과 일반학생의 학습동기를 비교한 연구는 제한적이다. 본 연구를 위하여 중학교 1학년 읽기 수업 교사 2명과 학생 80명이 참가했으며, 그 중 학습장애 학생이 30명이었다. 본 연구결과에 의하면, 학습장애를 가진 학생과 일반학생 간에 읽기수업에 대한 학습동기 수준에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 즉, 학습장애 학생과 일반학생 사이에 내재적·외재적 목표지향, 과제가치, 학습통제 신념, 자기효능감, 시험불안, 주관적 자신감, 관련성, 흥미, 학습지향, 성과목표지향, 과제회피, 학습전략 활용에서 차이가 없었다. 단, 학습장애 학생의 성과목표지향 동기와 과제회피 경향이 일반 학생보다 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 실제 두 집단 간에 학습동기 수준에서 차이가 없다고 볼 수도 있지만, 읽기유창성 점수와 비판적 사고력 점수에서의 두 집단 간 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 고려하면, 학습장애를 가진 학생의 자기인식기술의 제한점으로도 해석할 수도 있다. 즉 학습장애 학생들이 자신들의 학습동기 정도를 정확하게 평가하는 영역이 일반학생에 비해 부족하다는 것을 보여주는 것으로 해석할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the motivational differences between students with and without learning disabilities(LD) in a middle school inclusive reading classroom setting. Two teachers and eighty students with LD and without LD participated in the study. Previous studies reported inconsistent evidence on the motivation of students with LD compared to their peers without LD. The MANOVA results of this study indicated no significant differences between them. This finding implies that students with and without LD had similar levels of motivation to learn. Students with and without LD showed significant mean differences only in work avoidance and performance goal orientation at the univariate analysis of variance. Importantly, the results of this study provided the possible evidences of students with LD's inaccurate evaluation and judgment of their personal motivation and capabilities.
